Yeah the heat is bad this year in Texas. I started carrying a sweat towel with me whenever I’m outside working. Can’t wait to see the completed saw!

Yeah a sweat rag this year is a necessity. The humidity is out of control

Im in the process right now on a ms440. Good ole E-bay auction. The piston was trashed. So now i get to spend another 300.00

Great choice of saw to rebuild - it'll be nasty when you're done with it. 👍👍 What are you planning to run for replacement bearings - OEM or Aftermarket??

Just starting to look. Any recommendations?

@@Man-Time OEM are getting pricey but I've been looking for an 044/440 candidate to rebuild so I can try the set of bearings from Wolf Creek Saw Shop - he's got a PTO side bearing that's NTN and flywheel side is FAG - $60 for the pair. Prolly as close to OEM as you'll find...

You’re right. The ntn does look like a great choice. I decided to go with the dukes offering for both a new crank and bearings. I’ll be able to test for reliability when the saw comes together

@@Man-Time Prolly a good choice as the Duke offers great products at decent choice. I put a set of Hyway bearings in a saw that seemed fine / decent quality but I haven't got enough time on it to recommend them to anyone else...
Will be interesting to get your feedback from your reliability testing.

    044 440 are 70.7 cc saws 036 360 are 61.5 cc closer to a 65 cc saw 👍

Roger that! Many people compare the 044 to the Husky 272. I assumed the stroke was the same. Very easy to beat a saw with more stroke and same cc. 50x36 for this saw and 52x34 on the 272

@@Man-Timecorrect a closer comparison to a 65cc saw would be 038av 66.8 cc 038 magnum 72.2cc bore n stroke is the key aswell as opening up the ports n timming exhaust to get the most out of chainsaw 👍the 272 is 72.2 cc same as 038 mag 044 70.7 cc
