Some of my favorite Barney Miller episodes dealt with Wojo's (Mr. Gail's character) USMC Vietnam residuals. The very realistic portrayal always made me wonder if Mr. Gail, himself, had endured hardships. Wonderful to see his empathy and sensitivity is genuine, and aimed at sharing with others.

Watching this now in 2018 he is now playing a character on General Hospital and looks a lot older! He is playing Sonny Corinthos's Dad Mike who is battling Alzheimer's!
when I was a kid it always looked weird that he was bald in real life but had hair on the show...now that he's a bit older...the hairs fits him...and he hasn't lost any more in 30 years. I love your work Max...your character Wojo was an amazing combination of toughguy/ladies man and heart of gold/kid at heart guy...looks like he still works out too.
awesome actor very friendly guy I met him on the set of Due South season 4 in 97 the episode was title Dr. Longball that episode is on TH-cam in case you want to watch he was a guest star and I was an extra. He is in most of that episode but near the end of the show my friend who is an older guy is sitting next to him and I am beside my friend my hair is in a bun I am wearing my glasses and I am wearing red blue jacket I was nerdy looking at 20 years old and still am at almost 40. But To be that close in that scene It was amazing and between takes was more amazing just to sit there and talk to him and the other cast members and extras.
Max is a terrific actor and a great guy who went through hard times and kept his life together - bravo 👏

Although Max plays some comedic roles, you would find that he's very intelligent and socially aware. Truly a good man. Need more like him!
