(assisted by you-know-who of course) And even though a lot of people may know his body has been hijacked at that point, it goes to prove how far Anankos is willing to drive the knife in just to make Corrin suffer, seeing one of their dead brothers come back to slaughter them and their family.

They got defeated and admitted that Garon was an evil-ass shit but they never stand up against their father because they’re his children and the royals of Nohr. They can’t simply turn their blades against their kingdom. As for Xander, he just wanted to die at this point. His family was torn apart since Corrin left and started fighting against Nohr, and he killed his little sister by accident. Since he was already depressed by his burden as the crown prince and the cruel and terrifying tyrant who was supposed to be his father, he had no reason to go on living. Honestly I found his death really sad and his reaction (still wanting to fight to death) understandable.
Plus the Rainbow Sage btw I know you have spent a lot of time and grew attached to scarlet, pheonix. but I guess you could say it is the best path cause none of the characters that most people like die cause in both conquest and birthright many characters die like Ryoma and Elise.

For this all to be semi-realistic they would probably have to up the age rating. You got shredded clothes, blood and gore plus can you imagine this game with semi-realistic gore? It'd probably super cool and not make me want to eat for 100 years....

Dude it's been 3-4 years and I'm still not over Elise's death in Birthright. It still destroys me. Also screw Xander for spitting on her sacrifice (though I understand his reasoning, he should've surrendered and hid until the war ended instead of baiting Corrin into killing him, like what Hinoka does on Conquest).
I really hate to say this but I perfer if some other characters die instead of Corrin's mother... so much for her being a playable character... not even a dlc character-.-

When you follow the Birthright path, you learn that the main song that she sings is actually a curse, and that whenever she sings it, she will suffer greatly later (This cutscene you spoke of is an example of that). Azura claims that it only deals pain, but will never kill, but once you beat the final boss, the song truly finishes her off, and makes her "disappear."
