Key moments:
0:11 - 1. Always use an embroidery hoop
0:49 - 2. Use a small hoop regardless of the size of your piece
1:28 - 3. You don't need to use an embroidery needle
2:13 - 4. Start enjoying splitting thread
2:51 - 5. Don't make stitching an acrobatic exercise
3:34 - 6. Don't use every millimeter of thread
4:03 - 7. Gold thread is difficult to work with
5:48 - 7 (again) Don't unpick anything
6:43 - 8. Keep a neat back if you are stitching on a light fabric
7:11 - 9. Always stretch and mount your embroidery
7:39 - 10. Frame your embroidery!
Like the tip on adding a compatible color thread with gold strands. I’ll have to give that a go. 👍🏽
great tips, thank you for sharing! :D
Great advise
You can also smoosh a little bit of acid free glue into the last inch or so of your gold thread to keep it from ravelling, just make sure it isn't globby and is completely dried first.
Ah that’s such a good idea!! Love that!
Infinitas gracias, por compartir tan buenas técnicas, gran video. Muy agradecida💫💜💜💫🥰☀️💜🪷
Great advice.
I find binding my hoops holds the fabric better and cushions the stitches if i move the frame.
Such a good point - I always do this when doing embroidering onto clothing also just to make sure I get no hoop marks!
You can also use a scroll frame or a square frame the size of your piece (made of sticks you buy at the local hobby store). Then there are no creases in your fabric when you are done stitching.
Agreed - although personally I have always found these to not maintain the tension as well as a hoop, so I always go for a smaller 5/6 inch hoop - but it’s definitely personal preference!
I've never had that trouble. I put mine on drum tight and it's always stayed drum tight. It's the way I and the others in my guild have done it, but it also could depend on the tension you stitch at.
There are also frames that allow you to re-tighten the fabric.
But since it's something we do to bring us joy, we should use the method that does that gor us.
DIY PVC-pipe scroll frame for the win!
Thank you your embroidery work is very beautiful, and also the colors are lovely❤
Thank you for your kind comment!

For Americans she is talking about embroidery or counted cross stitch ,not sewing
