My koi and goldfish are finally coming out of their winter state. Once it fully warms up they’ll be back to eating tons of food right from my hands
I miss having a pond. My commons overwintered 2x before I moved. I took em with me, but they live in my basement until I can get a new pond made.
I am in a very predator filled area (bald eagles have even been in my yard) so they would get blasted pretty quick....
I think they have to stay inside. I have 7, so I may have to find a good home for a few here and there as they get bigger. They are in unheated water, so they are about 5 years old and 6-8 inches... The bigger ones eat more food and are beating out a few smaller ones.
@@volvo09 Mine overwinter very well. They did get a fungus on their tails overwintering one year but they healed on their own. My commons breed every spring now and I’ve had 3 babies survive to grow large since I have some green eared sunfish that I also spawned in my pond. We rehomed the majority and my big female passed so now I just have 4 small sunfish but they keep the goldfish from taking over. Hoping the koi spawn this year because I’d love to see the color combinations that pop out. Planning on getting one or two Chinese high fin banded sharks this spring. Best of luck to your goldfish

luke, its thanks to you ive learned so much about my goldies. it can be so hard to find resources online, so all your videos are super helpful! ive had most of mine for 2 years now, started with a 20 gallon and HOB filter and have made my way up to my own indoor pond with an FX6 and have changed many of my practices for the better mostly because of your videos ! keep doing what youre doing !

Ya got only 1 problem, your tanks are a little.. empty.. at least you give the fish room instead of tiny auugh bowls but they may need a bit of substrate on the floor. (Depending on the color of the substrate) that might also help your fish find the food easier instead of getting very confused with all the reflections.
Were the fish not being quarantined, they just got moved in.

My moss balls just came, real, and seem to be free of any parasites. Super stoked abt em! Glad to see the goldfish are doing good! Maybe I'll join the live? I dont like lives too much lol. And the Redcaps, the whole petstore redcap stock likely has some issue. I would just not buy them anymore.

If i were in your position i think id put ricefish in those cycling tanks- theyre hardy and can handle all goldie parameters- itd keep those things cycled and ready- they cohabitate with my fancies amazingly in my ponds. Great way to branch out into more fish types :) 🎉

Those orandas are so freaking tiny that I bet they come from a volume breeder that dumps them to pet stores regularly in huge volumes at a few months old... Grown super fast, used to very warm water and constant food, and they don't have any body fat to get used to a non overfeed condition.
Hopefully the pellet food helps, they just look starved... And I don't blame it on you.

I’ve just transitioned from Flowerhorn to Goldfish (i still have like 5 flowerhorns on me) but I have 6ish tanks with ranchus, orandas etc, man u helped me a lot from the transition! Im gonna be uploading my goldfish vlogs soon, thank u my brother Luke!

Recently did a salt/methylene blue bath for my Fantails since they seemed to developed some red spots. How many days do I have to keep doing it for them? I've heard 3-5 days but I'm not sure.
I'm no expert, but it is possible for Jiggly to have issues seeing because of the wen, may need to check it out every now and then

Luke add Sword plants to the tank. I personally use Swordplants for my aquarium of Goldfish they wont eat it buy some, sword plants looks cool.
Hey, I have a copy in my one of my fish tank and also I have some goldfish in another fish tank. What do I do if I bought them from the same shop and they are starting to breed I don’t want to use it in breed and I have the same genetics.
