RIP Made in Japan Trail Masters:( GSM Cold Steel recently shut down their manufacturing in the Seki Japan factory where your Trail Master was made and moved it all to Taiwan. Your blade is now a serious collector's item.
Ive been quite impressed with the San Mai III trailmaster. Its outperformed the 3V trailmasters I have AND the Fallkniven Modern Bowie. I need to make a review myself comparing all of these knives to add to the data pot.
@Noah Vinkel Hansen yes, I have three. Two of carbon v ( one with stag handle circa 1990ish) , and the other VG1 San mai. Love these knives! I’ve always wanted to try and put my San mai through the ringer, but it’s just too pretty!
@@mathewrculbertson thanks again for showing us what most tend to reserve for a needed situation my Texan friends. I’ve loved following you and your brother all these years! I’m glad to see you putting out more content lately! Keep it up
@Noah Vinkel Hansen I think about five years ago I got mine for around 250 US. I know it’s a lot, but if it’s something that’s of value to you and you know you’ll own for a lifetime….go for it; otherwise, I understand your objection. I’m fifty years old and have never been into fast cars, jet skis, or exotic vacations. I’ve only liked reliable tools and testing my limits: that’s where I’ve spent my money! Live life how you want! Don’t let numbers or stats hold you back; otherwise on your deathbed, you will have regrets! Cheers Noah! Get after it my friend!

Great review! I’ve had the Carbon V version for 20 years and have loved it. I am looking at picking up another one in San Mai.
I just ordered the 3v version, can't wait!
me2...b-day present to myself
3v sux compared to San mai fit and finish. Trust me I've owned them both. Japanese made san mai is way better and sharper.
78 chops 60 seconds you're getting faster !
Valuable test, thanks.
Thank you!
Great job brother 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
We need another hard use video on this bad Larry
Is that the same trailmaster that chipped on you when cutting bone ( edge reworked) , or is it a new one? Thanks for the test!
It is the same one. :)
@Noah Vinkel Hansen I bought my for 180 back in the day. I hear it is what more expensive now. For most task I highly recommend the CS Kukri machete.
