"Friends" is closing end of August according to my sources... That old lady helped me a lot on my 3 visits. I will miss their customer service. Good pickup video Jim although nothing jumped out at me today. I'm a CIB snob, you're still cool though keep them coming.
Man, I love watching hard off videos that you uploaded a new video today! For me, japan is my favorite country, and I watch videos about japan, and there's a lot of places where everyone goes there.
Another superb video my friend. I’ll most likely be going back to Japan for a THIRD straight year (in October). I’m planning to look for a PS Vita, several PS2, and SFAMI games. Hard Off is an amazing store and I can spend hours just browsing away there. Keep up the good work!
Jim, I will be in Japan next October. And I will have two free days in Tokyo. I will try to go in at least one Hard Off. I will use your videos as guide.
I would recommend places with most variety over hard off.. Hard off is good for Y1000 games I travelled Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya. Best shop you can visit is Suragaya flagship store in shizuoka near the rail station. I spent 1600 dollars in there. Probably out of your way but thought I'd mention it.
Happy hunting! Surugaya is better for selection and condition, but Hard Offs are generally cheaper and there's the thrill of never knowing what you might find.
My mum was also amazing at Tetris. That and Dr Mario. Great video, Jim. That looks like a great spot, I might put it on the list to make the trek out some day. I do love a good Hard-Hobby combo!
gameplay footage of these titles would sure improve the experience but i know that would make the video considerably more demanding to produce. i've been spoiled by metal jesus.
Just an fyi Jim the Super Famicom originally did not ship with a power adapter or av cables. Should just be the console, 2 controllers and paperwork to be cib!
this video is definitely making me want to pick up SFC collecting again! I did get Tetris battle gaiden and the first Sailormoon beat-em-up a while back, sailormoon isn't bad! for being the first game anyway. only took a couple days to beat but it's a nice one to have. might also have to track down the bombermans (bombermen?) to go with my copy of Saturn bomberman!
It's a shame that you don't look prices on the rpgs, strategy games or visual novels because there might be people who are interested in those kinds of games who watches your videos. Especially if you dig deep enough into the visual novel category you can find some interesting stuff. 😎
1st time viewer to your channel! Just curious, are you buying for your own collection? Or are you buying for some other reason? I'm asking because you said each time you find certain games for cheap you will buy them.. so I was wondering why would you buy the same games over and over, that's all.
I was a big time collector several years ago, but now most of the games I buy are sent to the people subscribed to my Patreon, and I sometimes sell games directly to people. I don't keep many games for myself. If you look back through my channel you'll see I've been at this for over a decade, both collecting and selling.
I know hard off is a retro store. The only place you can go is in japan. I must it compares other retro gaming stores in the United States. In the United States, there are a lot of retro stores in 50 states. Depends on what state you live.
Looks like they've got HAL9000 on shoplifter watch, that's awesome lol
I'm afraid I can't let you shoplift, Dave

Yeah, that's really too bad, I like that shop and the old lady is super friendly
I can’t watch these videos anymore, Jim. I get too jealous. I need to visit Japan ASAP!!
Can't wait to see this new Hardoff spot there in Japan, mate 👍
Much appreciated
Lol. I totally have a Tetris mom, too. She was hardcore into Tetris and Dr. Mario on the NES back in the day.

@@atomiswave1971 thanks, I forgot Surugaya is a great option.

Thanks for another video! Have there been any cool pop up stores recently?

Puyo puyo is criminally underated
Heck yeah Hard off time!
That's the spirit!

SuFami is still a fairly affordable console to collect for as long as you're not going for anything crazy rare
I remember my Mom played a lot of Tetris and she also played a lot of Ms.Pac-Man
What's the market like on loose PC Engine cards these days? I got my hands on the old PC Engine Magazine game wallet and wouldn't mind filling it out.
Hard Off's are slowly becoming a thing in the Los Angeles/Long Beach area but still kinda far for me to travel to.
I've heard that, and Book Off as well
That Dreamcast console sounds like a steal, pretty cheap
Hi Jim, I'll be in Tokyo in a couple of weeks, what shops for cheap laserdiscs (Anime) can you recommend?
@@mafflambo definitely Hard Off, most of them will have LDs in their junk section for 100yen a piece

My western mind keeps wanting to see mk games... Must be a western thing. 😅 Love all the fighters anyway. 😉
Hey Jim! How are you doing today?
Just fine, thanks
@MadPanicGaming Jim, do you watch japanese dad videos?
@@MadPanicGaming Do you play basketball, Jim?
Hey dude, how are you doing?

These old game are really expensive to buy, I rather play retro game on a better high definition handheld system rather than old CRT
It's not strictly about just playing the games though, collectors are interested in preserving physical media
I always die a little inside when you skip rockman.exe and medarot games😢😂
Not in my wheelhouse lol
@@MadPanicGaming 😭😭😭 despite that, still great content
Hey Jim just wondering. Is there any other way i can pay monthly WITH OUT joining Patreon? I refuse to join that WOKE Company.
