Kamado Joe owner here. I’ve been looking at getting a Weber Kettle for quicker cooks and once I started doing some research I was really impressed with the sheer versatility these little grills have. Good video. 👍🏻
@@BBBarbecueandPits I see so many videos and the guy never mentions the small things. I need to be told like I’m a 5 year old and know nothing. I am grilling a pork butt as we speak from watching your video.
Thanks for the excellent Weber Kettle video! I do all my BBQ and grilling on my Weber Kettle because it’s all I have and all I need. Looking forward to more content 👍🏻
Hey thanks! I always have high hopes for my pork butts, but notice they sometimes have a funny taste here and there. I now know about that gland thanks to your video, and trimmed back all the fat I used to leave on. I have one on the smoker now, and think its gonna be the best yet!
Thanks for watching! Yeah man little stuff like that makes a huge difference in taste. Also picking the pork butt apart by hand helps to get any fat that didn’t render out of the end product!!
I have a traeger pro 750 wifire, and a Webber kettle. I actually like doing pork butts more on my kettle. Better flavour IMO. Snake method with three big chunks of hickory and one big onion sliced in half directly on coals. Cant beat it.
Yeah you really can’t replicate that taste you get from coals and wood on the Kettle. Lately I’ve been cooking on my new drum and that flavor is even better than the Kettle because you get the grease dripping onto the coals. Thanks for watching!!
I tried a few times. And never really cared for it. Cause didn’t taste the way I expected. Now I think I know why. Funny I’m doing one today. And trimmed like you did. Bought one from a farm for $ 60.00. High hopes on this one.
Yeah sometimes those glands will really give it an off taste. Another tip is to separate it by hand and take out any nasty fat that didn’t render down. I bet your next one will be really good 👍🏻

@@gabrielglouw3589 thanks! Yeah you really can’t beat a Weber for the price. Good quality and you can do multiple things on it.
Great step by step instructions. Awesome video!!!
Hangily...Danglelys... That's a new one on me. Great video as always!!!
That gives me an idea for a song
Thank you for being so thorough. Even mentioning vents.
Not a problem! I felt like I had to be just because you have to be very particular when you are doing long cooks on the Weber

Looking forward to many more videos, great instruction.
Thank you so much! Planning some cooking and pit build videos for this year
I really enjoyed eating this, thanks for sharing with us
Well done! You trim a pork shoulder as I do! Great minds think alike? Great video! I enjoyed the video of restoring the one smoker.
Dig the vibe bro, appreciate ya!
Thanks for watching!
I like using the oven to finish off the pork. Nice and tender
Yeah no use in wasting charcoal or wood at that point 👍🏻
