Thanks for the video, just completed this on a 2017 edge titanium. The plastic nuts strip easy, a 9/16 6 point socket with a 6 inch extension worked great. As for removing the spoiler, you are absolutely correct, ford did not want this thing to come off with ease. Stupid design, as you said, start on the outside lifting up shine a flashlight in to find the white clips, use a small flat bar or a really long trim tool, there are 4 white clips total, 2 in the middle of the spoiler and then one each side. They sure do put up a fight. Thank you very much for the video. BTW, these are available at Napa and Ford dealer as of October 2024.
Those plastic nuts are a pain, you need to be careful to hold the correct socket firmly on them. Also, I found it hard to believe that there were only 5 nuts as stated here. There are actually 6 and had I not realized that I would have done some damage trying to force the spoiler off. The Light actually only has four screws to remove, not seven. It's also much easier to remove if you push up from the outer edge where the light is.
After having done this repair I have realized that this video is very misleading and the spoiler can be removed much easier if you ignore this video. Sorry!

The plastic nut on my 2015 edge titanium are 13mm 12 point. I had to cut the two end ones cross treaded
1/2 is smaller than 13 mm you most likely stripped them due to that I didn’t struggle much with a normal 6 point 1/2 inch
Are the plastic nut really nuts I can’t find what size they are and they seem to just spin
