If I remember correctly, there are also mods for the PC version of FF8 that improved the blurry background textures

I watched a video recently documenting the completion of VIII background mods and couple other things. For both the original steam version and the one with updated graphics by the company.
Edit: That's IIRC, if not completion - damn near it and fully working.

A lot of the mods are great, but every now and then there's something that's a bit meh like the desert ground. The character models they've made have gotten WAY better though, very great stuff.

Is there's mod that make you revive aerith?

Pretty sure in New Threat during the fight at Forgotten Capital, Jenova revives Aerith during the fight. If you keep her alive but kill Jenova, Aerith rejoins the party. Or you can kill her since when Jenova Revives Aerith she will be registered and treated as an enemy unit during the fight
