I really applaud Season 2 is all about a moral battle between Gi-Hun and In-Ho on their world beliefs The way I see it, there’s a deep rivalry between the Front Man and Player 456 (Gi-hun). This entire season was a battle of ideology between the two. Gi-hun declared his war against the Front Man when he asked to be put back in the game, saying, “You’re afraid because you know you’re going to lose to me, just like your master (Il-nam) did.” On the other hand, the Front Man also declared his own war against Gi-hun by joining the games, albeit unbeknownst to Gi-hun. The Front Man is trying to show Gi-hun that he’s no hero and that these people aren’t worthy of being saved. I would say he actually succeeded. Gi-hun became a little less heroic when he decided to sacrifice some of the players for the “greater good.” If you pay attention, the Front Man even smirked in that moment because he knew he had won the battle against Gi-hun right then and there. I’m not sure if he hates Gi-hun, but he clearly sees him as an interesting challenge and wants to prove that his (Gi-hun’s) ideas are false. After all, they are both previous winners of these games. They’re very similar to each other but also vastly different. They’re two sides of the same coin, but only the Front Man realizes this. That’s why he’s so obsessed with torturing Gi-hun and defeating him in this battle of ideologies..
Lee Byung-hun who plays Front Man talks about developing the character in this interview: th-cam.com/video/GU-z8CpbZ48/w-d-xo.htmlsi=oLBORUCAXQti7y-c. A lot of what he says confirms your understanding of his motivations. Without exception, I think the actors in Squid Game are superb, and his performance is exquisite! Front Man is a dirty bastard and I can't wait to see more of him in S3!
Player 388 is not a fake Marine, all South Korean men are required to enter military service for at least 2 years or go to prison. The most logical thing is that he has PTSD.
@SMLee-c7t There could have been some incident on smaller scale while he was in service. You don't have to have PTSD just from war. Maybe someone went crazy and shot everyone but Daeho in their unit. That could cause big enough trauma from guns specifically. Additionally, Korean army sometimes joins foreign conflicts, but I don't think that's the case with him.
the way he flinched when Hyunju was reaching for the extra magazines makes me think that he was abused by either his father or a superior in the marines
the music that plays in the end sounds very similar to when Saebyuk died last season 😢 you've even got the repeat of Gi-hun being pinned down as he's crying. But of course, Gi-hun looks like he's crying harder and way more devastated since that was his longtime friend 💔
Commenting till he reacts to Moving day 31 , Man i cant wait for season 3 , the feelings gi hun must be feeling... He tried to be a hero and that amounted to nothing and got so many people killed , just sad

Maybe he actually deserted and thats how he got here.
What PTSD? Unless you are a Korean War veteran, there haven’t been any wars since then that could cause PTSD

388 is VIP
I think the front man is just reenacting the person he used to be during his first play through of the game.

He isnt fake marine he has ptsd
dae-ho was forced into the military by his father 😭 def has trauma from that
001 just playing Gi-hun's game and to show him that he cannot stop the game
i think player 388 have ptsd its either from his time in marine or from his father (that he doesn't want to talk about)
player 120 was OP in ep 7 finale
Same I'm pretty sure Strawberry isn't dead, they didn't show his body and maybe 11 shot him in the thigh or something, the gun was aimed down.
9:35 Min-su is actually one of the VIPs from season 1 💀🫣
Gong Yoo is the MVP of this season! Ruled it totally! 💀🗿👑
