Very good observation on this 1.5 tsi engine in its manual form. I’m a happy owner with the same engine on my Taigun! It is an absolute delight to drive both on highways and city limits. If I need to describe this engine in two words, that would be “Effortless performance”🔥
Good and informative content. In Europe still close to 70% cars are manual. Narrow and hilly roads plus European cars are comparitively smaller. North Americans prefer bigger cars and mostly automatic.
@7:33 - I agree with you too. I upgraded from 1.3 diesel Maruti Suzuki Baleno to 1.5 Skoda Slavia MT recently and I definitely feel like driving in NFS MW. I really like the way I am able to connect with the car and the engine sounds always keeps you engaged with your driving experience. Initially I felt a bit odd on the missing sound dampeners under the bonnet but now when I drive I am thankful that they did not dampen the engine sound. The engine sound is what fulfills the connection between the driver and the car. @9:00 - The 3rd gear feels like it is the longest as you can technically go from almost 20-25kmph all the way to the limiter. 3rd gear is my most favorite gear to drive since it gives me the rush but unfortunately we don't get lot of chances to drive like that with our traffic, road condition and especially for the safety of others & us. If possible, kindly do a similar detailed driving experience with 1.5 MT Slavia.
How about back seat comfort compared to baleno, in baleno 3 people can sit at the back without hesitation. Is that the same at Slavia, In the video he mentioned it for 4 people comfort?
One of the main reasons why the Indian market shifted towards SUV is because of big families and road conditions. I have been in Honda City numerous times and can't forget the fact that no matter how slowly or gently we drive the Honda City, it always gets scraped under because of irregular huge sized road bumps, broken roads etc. Until the roads are improved to be actual roads without any issues as in other developed countries, I don't think it makes sense to have sedans, which is why the general population looks for higher ground clearance, which in turn leads them to SUVs. I love sedans, but the environment I'm in doesn't allow it 😂

Agree with you, I drive Taigun 1.5L GT, driving is interesting. I am not a long drive enthusiastic but with Taigun GT driving is not at all boring. Effortless driving nd we can handle the vehicle very precisely. High way mileage also good with 14 to 19. Less mileage in city 8 to 12 but thats ok for me. As u said inside vehicle we don't feel the speed even at 120km. High speed braking also very effective inside doesn't feel sudden brake. Suspension is hard. Taigun doesn't have sedan comfort. My advice buy 1.5L GT nor 1L.

Both are good at performance, but this DSG DQ200 gearbox already had issues from vento, rapid and polo time, so this might have issues in future and that would be too costly to maintain, will have more than 1 to 1.5 lakh will cost if we face gear box issue, Apart from that the manual is so connected and no worries to maintain, if you can bear a big cost you can go for DSG or else go for the manual.

They do have a better build from previous gen but on interiors it's a downgrade due to plastic quality from Indian suppliers.
