    I've made more tracks sketches on this unit in 4 month than in whole last year! Its so intuitive, inspiring and just good sounding. Jamming is a blast. I can't understand how people do not say that this unit is revolutionary... This unit is revolution in music creating and playing live jams. It will be classic like 303 or 909 in the days, I tell you that, I'm sure of it.

    What I am learning, step by step.
    I am into the melodic potential of my M:C.
    The Model:Cycles has a lot of
    potential, for all kinds of styles of electronic music, that only comes
    to life, when you spend the time, to learn all its secrets.
    These videos help a lot.
    Thanks for sharing, and best wishes for your continued success.

    I love how you are getting so into the Cycles. Its such an underrated and unique piece of hardware. I really dig how smooth the synth sounds can be. I found the manual to be a little difficult to understand, so these videos really help.

      Glad you liked the video! I've had a blast getting to know it, there really is a huge variety of sounds on there. The manual is written kind of oddly lol, I usually just figure stuff out through trial and error haha. Thanks for watching!

    Hi, sound engineer here, I've had M:C for about ten days and I still have to get used to its sound design, very different from for example VolcaFM, which however laborious the flow may be, at least it has envelopes!
    Despite everything, I was surprised by the M:C sequencer and the immediacy of using the machine even without reading the manual.

    • @FreeBeat
      @FreeBeat  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can actually access a VERY basic envelope in the LFO settings believe it or not lol. I hope you have a blast with the Cycles though, it's so much fun!

    hello, nice video, so I presume the longest length of a synth tone would be the 64 step maximum? what if one needed a tone over 4 bar bars long? I guess retrigger the note on downbeat of next pattern? maybe mess with the decay of the tone to get the desired effect, etc.? thanks

    • @FreeBeat
      @FreeBeat  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FuZZbaLLbee It's a very different experience. I love them both. The cycles beats out the OP-Z in sound design, but I prefer the overall workflow of the OP-Z I think. They're both super fast and awesome devices!

    I want to learn how to use the trig locks to select the pitches, using only the Model:Cycles built in features, so I can make songs in remote locations.
    By itself it is so portable.
    In the studio/at home using a separate keyboard, or drum pads, is a great idea.

    • @FreeBeat
      @FreeBeat  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When you're in sequencer mode, just hold down the step you want to edit the note of and use the main dial!

    • @TheScreamingFrog916
      @TheScreamingFrog916 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FreeBeat Thanks for the suggestion.
      That works best if you are working from a written list of notes, Or have the note names/letters, already memorized.
      Also not bad if you are working with a short sequence, so you can hear the note you are trying to select, repeatedly played, as you try different ones, each time the sequence repeats.
      That method becomes more tedious, as the sequence gets longer, as it takes so long for the note to repeat (up to 64 steps in a 4 bar loop).
      Is there a way to make the note sound, when entering them in GRID RECORDING MODE, without having the sequencer playing?
      Similar to the way you can do in chromatic mode, like when the sequencer is stopped, or in live recording mode?

    How do you connect it to a MIDI?

      It uses 3.5mm MIDI in and out jacks, and it also comes with two adapters to turn each of those into standard 5pm DIN plugs.

    It's all nice and rosy. I can play melodic tunes with the trigs all I want, play some beautiful tunes BUT as soon as I press the record button, no more melody. All I can get from the 6 Tracks on the 16 trigs is just one single note on all of them... Can someone please help me with this? I've read the manual, watched all the videos I could find. Nowhere I can find an answer?????

    • @FreeBeat
      @FreeBeat  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For live recording you need to hold record and press the play button first, then you can use all 16 notes. Alternatively, you can sequence your rhythm in first, then just hold each individual step and use the main data knob to change the note. Hope that helps, thanks for watching!

    Thnkz For some good tips
    I missed the punch button and the gate got this machine like for a week now the more I play with it the more I like it
    But I can’t figure out how to save the sounds I made in a different folder
    instead of on the tracks and the patterns
    or maybe want to explain the actions in the message. what I have seen in those few days with me, so much is happening on that thing and there is actually too little described in the manual
    this device is a wolf in sheep's clothing cute on the outside and monstrous inside for it also really looks like my first fisher prize with all those weird ugly stickers 😂

    • @FreeBeat
      @FreeBeat  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Once you have a sound that you've made, open the Preset menu (hold function, press the "machine" button). Then navigate to the folder you want to save your sound in. Press function again, and it should bring up the save preset menu :) Thanks for watching!
