@Mønarch Or the overly positive reviewers that seem to just be regurgitating the manufacturers' marketing lines at times. Stimming manages a unique combination unlike any other: playful and joyful, but informative and honest.
I really adore the chord inversion functionality. Stimming doesn't even mention it, but I imagine it is a game changer. Cause with other machines with only chords in root position, everything sounds quite cheap pretty quickly, as soon as chords are more than 2 notes apart from each other. Inversions is what (good) piano and guitar players do intuitively, so the tonality can change without having the chords jump up and down all over the place. Really neat feature!

I ordered my Cycles before this mess started, so no idea when I'll get it, but I just have to say: the fact that this is the same price as the DrumBrute Impact is absolutely bonkers. I love the Impact and its super raw sound, I just mess around on it for hours, but, I mean, the kick alone in the Cycles seems to be more versatile than the entire Impact, with it's fairly limited palette of sounds and no parameter recall. I think a lot of it will come down to taste, like Stimming says. I love Impact's raw sound, can't wait to see them play nice together.
"it sounds different to all the other drum machines that are clones of clones" i agree that it sounds different. the other machine that also sounds different and sounds really impressive is the korg volca Drum. i tried it at the store and it was really surprisingly good. i should go try this out... could be a very good source of samples for drums for my MPC

The freakin tiny displays man, in 2020.. This is the Achile’s heel on all Elektron synths. I have the A4 mk2 and it’s such an amazing piece of gear, but the freakin small display really messes you up after 2-3 hrs of interaction. You start seeing double.
Displays are cheap to manufacturer. I just think Elektron get lazy by using previous form factors to release new gear. Look at the gear they've released to prove my point
I think they were trying to keep costs down and keep the form factor small. I feel like a small screen might work on a simplistic device like this. Something more complicated maybe not so much.
These videos are great. I feel like I have learned methods to play the drum machines live in front of an audience. Really eye opening! Thank you. More!
Try sending the chord machine into the reverb. It sound horrible, no movement in both of them. Once you add a little pitch LFO to the chord, it starts to shine. That’s too bad. I can’t use the LFO as an attack envelope because I always use it as a vibrato.

The overtones from the FM (and ringmod?) can sometimes be VERY unpleasent to my ears and easily too bright but he is such a skilled programmer and keps them under good control, while other producers may struggle a little bit with. So watch out. The bassdrum I realy like, the sequencer and chord looks very promising. Interesting he points out that the maschines sound appeared to be very usable in a production, which is an important sidenote and in the end will decide over dust or duct tape on it on the long run.
Hello, I'm looking for a video that shows how I can include a .wav library in the model cycles. First of all, is it possible to include samples and if so, how and in what format? If it does not include .wav and if syex, how do I transform .wav to syex. Greetings and thank you!!
Interesting comparison, they couldn't be more different in every conceivable way but I love that you heard Alpha Base hallmarks in this lovely little machine!
some very good points here. Mainly very soon you realize the machine sounds repetitive. As per noise - I cannot agree on that, mine is compressed, not heavily, but I cannot hear any disturbing noise, so maybe there are some units with issues. The sequencer is gold, and I keep mine mainly as secondary drum machine and sequencer for model D.
