We are spoiled on the Yellowstone for sure! Montana agates can get massive! I think the largest one ever found on record is 63 pounds. In some areas 5 pound agates are just the norm😳

Chert can be absolutely fantastic! I have grown very fond of banded chert especially. And i really have started to appreciate flint as well! I recently started knapping and it is so much fun to work with!👍
Ok Theo, the petrified wood is very good, the agates are great but those Jaspers are stunning. I really am becoming a fan of Jasper with all of its variants. I only have a couple of small pieces of Jasper that I have found so far though I am planning to change that this year. He has a crazy busy schedule and does not have the luxury of traveling regularly like i do so his secret spot close to home is an asset when it comes to getting to make videos regularly for him😄 i don't want to jeopardize his ace in the hole

We have been getting extremely spoiled this winter!....unfortunately it caught up to us😅 we got about two feet of snow yesterday, and a high of -4 is in the forecast later this week. Can't complain too much though; we have had an astoundingly mellow winter this year! No snow until February us just INSANE for Montana!
Great videos! At about 16:04 min on the video, you held up a rock and said was smooth on one side and mentioned cutting it open. It may be worth more to leave it whole. That looked like a petrified tooth, that may be worth looking into.

Some of those "oddly-shaped stones" that you collected for this episode might be "Paleo Native American" artifacts. Indigenous peoples not only "created arrowheads"...but they carved out "weapons, axes, knives, scrapers, grinders, fire starters, effigies, toys, game pieces, dishware, and a lot more stuff. It's very likely that you'll find them near or at bodies of water, like at rivers...lakes...ponds...and creeks. 🗿🗿🗿

I like how the colours of the cliffs and the late sun on the scrub cover is the same shades of oranges and yellows as the jasper! Hard to imagine not having this river in the back yard!
