Hi Marion! Thanks for featuring the Filipino Kare-kare!!! In our household, we dont add in whole peanuts, just ready-made peanut butter. Since PB is already sweet, we dont add sugar anymore as well. As for the veggies, we saute or blanche separately from the maim dish to preserve their freshness and form, as well as not to water down the sauce. Lastly, the Kare-kare is traditionally a little bland because it has to be paired with Shrimp paste on the side for added flavor/saltiness. Others put in the Shimp paste directly to the dish while cooking but i personally want to have it as an add on to every spoon-full of Kare-kare and white rice. Hope these help! 😊

Will try kare kare. Thanks for sharing abt the 5-spice hoisin with fruity instead of shao xing wine. I have been wondering what I can cook with the pickling sauce vinegar. As a sauce or a vinegar or just treat it like balsamic vinegar. Hemm.. in glaze perhaps.
That Kare kare looks so tasty. Traditionally we eat it with bagoong ( shrimp paste ) maybe you can try it next time 😊 Not my grandma’s recipe but you did a good job , I think I’ll try that.
Glad you cooked our Kare2x..🥰 Traditionally it has more veggies like pechay(bokchoy), string beans, big banana blossom.Additional toasted ground peanuts in the sauce would be more tasty.😍
❤ Hello teammates, you did a great job for slow cooking dishes. I'm French, and I think now you are able to make a video on "Boeuf Bourguignon". It's one of my favorites dishes: you have to use good red wine and few shrunk of black chocolate at the end of cooking.... Serving with vegetables, it's awesomely gooood 😅 Enjoy
i think i might make some chicken laksa soup tonight. I just happen to have all the ingredients so why not.But i ll be using chicken wings intead of whole chicken thats whative got
Hi marion, I have seen a lot of Barbecue recipes on your channel... there is a famous mutton recipe from India known as "champaran mutton"... it's a slow cooked mutton made in Claypot... would love to see that on your channel with your marion twist....❤
I am trying to give up coconut milk too, because it has too much fat. I use creamy plant milks such as oatmilk or cashew milk plus add 1-2 tablespoon cashew/almond butter for the nutty flavor.
the last dish you made is called thit kho and it is a Vietnamese comfort food. I think it's important that we label these dishes by what they're actually called! :)

For the veggies, aside from string beans and eggplant, we also add "pechay" and banana blossom/heart
Big thanks Marion

@@xerironaitnas5383 thank you
@@alison__16 just a little

What cam i use other than coconut milk? I'm allergic to coconut.
I am trying to give up coconut milk too, because it has too much fat. I use creamy plant milks such as oatmilk or cashew milk plus add 1-2 tablespoon cashew/almond butter for the nutty flavor.
Has anyone tried her version of Kari Kari? If you did, what did you think of it?
Can you do a menu by type of cuisine so that we know what to do for a party! Thank-you in advance
You should have shrimp paste for that Kare-kare :)
How much would you put in? I want to make this but with the shrimp paste in as a couple of people have mentioned it's missing.
@@alison__16for every spoonful bite of karekare, a pinch or less usually do. Honestly it depends on your preference.
@@kailephvxieouz7754 thank you 😊
Wouldnt the alcohol be cooked out from these recipes so they wouldnt actually contain any alcohol?
The age old debate when considering cooking for those who don't want it. It is gone, but I tell them regardless just in case..
Not saying to be mean, just in case you felt like fixing it. You spelled Laksa incorrectly for the onscreen captains, you spelled it Laska.
Could be spelled that way in her part of the world? Also you spelled captain when you should have written Captions. Lol see why it’s not important.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laksa
the last dish you made is called thit kho and it is a Vietnamese comfort food. I think it's important that we label these dishes by what they're actually called! :)
Would you consider making a few vegetarian meals for your vegetarian viewers?❤️
All same recipe, just replace meat by the vegetable you like.
More vegetarian please - agree!
I know few if it can help you, pad pak namhoi, pad pak bung fai deng, jen ta fo
Go look up vegetarian recipes then 🤷♂️
She says coconut cream at first but then says coconut milk after. Website recipe also says cream but I'm pretty sure it's milk she's talking about.
KARE KARE HAS NO VINEGAR NO SUGAR NO SOY SAUCE.
Damn, too much unnecessary chitchat. Do more cooking and less gibberish talking.
Alright…. Time to get the work experience kid off the TH-cam edit/upload. You’re better than this Marion.
I'm on the way!!! I'm all about cosy and comforting vibes... Feed me please!!!!!!! lol. 😄 ❤ 🙏
“Happy new year” every one”👋😎👍👍👍🤍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😋😋🙏🇺🇸
