Drivers ignoring ‘no left turn’ signs get stuck in ART construction

grader should have creamed that pickup, maybe after he got 5 tickets and had to pay to fix his truck, he'd think twice about driving thru a construction zone

In some places in the US, that turn would get you arrested for wreckless endangerment.
I'm a retired Construction inspector. I'd tell drivers that were in the Work Zone to go to Walmart and get a refund on their Drivers License.
They should consider putting down stop strips to flatten some tires.
There are so many people that don’t okay the signs and risk damaging their cars they deserve a ticket also, where are the police??
Those signs are there for a reason, they ain't there for decorative purposes.

How were they to know it was going to be impassable?
Seems like there would have been something in the paper, on the TV, or on the radio warning travelers of this construction area so maybe they could allow the extra travel time or taking a different route.

Russ Davis I dont know where you live but when there is construction where I live there will be a sign up that will be either closed or expect delay on due date. They will give 2 weeks ahead start amd plan daily route. When I see that think on spot.

Why don't they do road construction at night, when traffic is non existent? This has always puzzled me.
It's rarely done at night because it's a LOT more expensive to do so. About the only time you see night time construction work is if it's in a high traffic area that needs repaving. And then it's easy enough to do a night's worth of repaving, then stop the work until the next night.

Go watch the People Behaving Badly segments from San Francisco. Just about everyone out there seems to ignore signs. And the likelihood that they're republicans is very low. It doesn't matter what party one belongs to when it comes to ignoring street signs.
