  • Lift Foils just launched a new Downwind SUP foil board, The Flying Cat. Cat is short for Catamaran, with this unique hull design to increase stability and lift for an easier take off as no one is claiming SUP down winding to be easy!

Incredible self-restraint to do this review with those conditions going on behind you.

Looks like a sweet new design that obviously works well! I think I need a trailer dedicated to these long board designs at 8+ feet 😅

Many other builders stress having some convexity to the bottom to have good touchdown/bounce, such as Kalama and Jimmy Lewis to name a few. Here with the cat we have concavity even. I worry it would compromise the touchdown stickiness. Any feedback on that aspect?

Interested to get the 115L board for winging in low wind conditions. If I weigh 200lbs do you think it is a good option as a 10th session beginner? Also what wing would you recommend, 220 High Aspect?

How much of a handicap am I facing at 220lbs trying to start out on a 115 liter board?
