Hi Steve, thanks for the detailed video it helped me to make a decision .I just ordered Niphean 10¨ and can´t wait to try it on the lake Huron ( Southwestern Ontario coast). I really hope it works well for me and it is as amazing as you advertise.BTW you have such a cute personality and vibe that totally sold me the board
Thanks for the reviews. I was about to buy the Funwater, but you mentioned lack of stability. I’m new and fairly heavy to boot so I could use the stability. I’ll probably spring for the Niphean.
Way better choice for sure. Niphean's Center Fin is a game changer for stability. Black Friday is coming up too. I'm sure prices will drop. Thanks for watching!
@@sshouser31 Went ahead and pulled the trigger. 212 on Amazon doesn’t seem bad. Cheaper options for around 150, but a little more for what seems to be quality isn’t bad. Definitely less than the $600 plus hard boards
Hi, thank you for great video. It seems the Niphean 10 also has D-rings on the sides of the board, just like the Aqua Plus. Do they bother you as well, or is it not the case?
No it didn’t for some reason. By the time I tested that board out I adjusted my paddling or maybe it was the placement of where Niphean put them Vs. Aqua Plus. Either, or didn’t seem to notice them. You’d could always remove them if it was an issue. I think they’re just glued on. Thanks for watching! 🙌🏼😎🙌🏼
That’s an awesome board! You’re going to love it! For some reason it didn’t. Maybe it’s the placement of the D-rings on that board or maybe I switched up my paddling strokes by then. Just didn’t seem to bother me on that board. Keep me posted on how you like it! Let me know how your first adventure goes. Thanks for watching! 🙌🏼😎🙌🏼
Was thinking about getting that Niphean 10' board. I wanted the 11' but it doesn't have the big center fin on Canadian Amazon. Hopefully 10' will be good enough for two people to fit comfortably
@@cynder2465 Dang! I wonder why? That’s my favorite board! I’d shoot Niphean a Email. They have great customer service. I’m sure they would help out! The 10 foot is awesome too. I really like that board. It holds up to 300 lbs. Hopefully that helps! Thanks for watching!!
I noticed that some colors of even the 11ft board came with a smaller center fin, the same size as the rear fin. But I did find one that still showed a pic with the large fin. I wonder if this is just a product photo issue or if they may have potentially switched out the fin for a smaller one by design. Also, on the Fun Water you can swap out the fin for a larger one. I got a free Fun Water but it was missing the small side fins. So I ordered a large center fin and it worked fine with that single large fin. The included center fin was only 7" while the larger one I replaced it with is 9". My daughter is using the Fun Water, so I may consider a Niphean for myself.
@@joem6010 I have the other 11' with the smaller center fin as well. I did another Niphean Video Review 6 months ago. Check that video out too! It's an updated design, but honestly I like them both! Can't go wrong! Ahhh good to know! I was wondering if anyone swapped out those fins. I could see it being really fun if you did! Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
@sshouser31 It looks like they do sell that larger fin separately after all. It even comes with the mount which is interesting. Makes me wonder if someone could use PVC glue and add one on another board.
Hi! Great review on these boards available on Amazon. I’m really interested in the niphean 10’ but noticed it does not have a center strap for carrying/grabbing onto. Did you find that an issue? I’m 5’2”, also wondering if the 11’ would be too big for me? Thoughts?
It has side straps and D-Rings on the side for a shoulder strap. The shoulder strap comes with the board. You can never go too big, 11’ is my favorite but you can’t go wrong with the 10’ either. Depends what you want to do. 11’ is good for adventures, you can strap more gear to it. 10’ is wider so it’s good for yogi and all around paddling. Hopefully this helps! Thanks for watching!! 🙌🏼😎🙌🏼
I have not. But from what I’m seeing it looks like you get less for more money. Niphean is half that price and it comes with a 4th center fin that keeps the board super stable vs. other brands. I own two of the 11’ models and a 10’ model. They’re the best. I love Niphean. I personally think it’s the best brand I’ve tried so far. Hopefully this helps! Thanks for watching! 🙌🏼😎🙌🏼
I'm having a very difficult time finding the square center fin version on the internet. Not even their site has the long square fin. It's just a slightly long fin shaped fin. Seems less stable then the long square fin. Anyone know where I can get the model with the long square center fin version?
@@Mersipher I put the link below. Looks like they’re sold out right now. The one in the video was on there when I added the link. I’d give it a few days. I’m sure they’ll restock it. If not, let me know. I can shoot the company an email for you 😉 I also did a review earlier this year on the Lustrous Chestnut model. It’s on my channel. Check out that video. I must say it’s very similar and you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between the two if you rode them both.
Great video, thank you for sharing, I have a trip to Waikiki next year and I was thinking buy a paddleboard Inflatable, follow your recommendations about niphean, what size do you recommend 10 or 11?? It's any difference or feel the same the size??? Thanks
11'6" is my all time favorite. Can't go wrong!! Pretty much folds up to the same size as 10'. If you're into adventure the 11'6" is the board to go with. If you're into Yoga, go with the 10'. Thanks for watching. Much appreciated!!
Have you ever used a ‘11 ft atoll and how would you compare it to the Niphean I have atoll and wanted to get my wife a SUP but I love my atoll though but you made the Niphean sound worth it
I have not but Atoll’s look pretty good. Seems like Atoll is double the price though and you don’t get the unique center balance fin that Niphean offers. Can’t go wrong with Niphean!!
These are all disposable cheapies that I wouldn’t recommend staking your life on in the ocean. Get something from Red Paddle Co, Isle, NRS, or even Bote, all of whom offer more affordable models that these Amazon brands are likely 1:1 ripoffs of, but made with inferior materials and craftsmanship.
Thanks for the comment and for watching. However, I disagree. Most of these boards are built really tough and normal humans can’t afford those boards. Especially with today’s economy. I wouldn’t bring an inflatable in the ocean period. Too risky. The swell will make you super unstable. If you’re rich… sure…. go for the Bote. I own one. Awesome boards. But I’d choose Niphean over Bote or any of those brands. They’re a fraction of the price, and they’re amazing!!!
Ah yes Bote, the expensive brand with bad boards and even worse customer service who leave you stuck and out a bunch of when their products inevitably fail and they refuse to do anything about it besides telling you to go back to the place you purchased it at. 💀
If you’re more than a swimming distance from land, I wouldn’t recommend paddling an inflatable. I do paddles that take me anywhere from 2-5 miles offshore, and my peace of mind is in the fact that my leash tethers me to 14 feet of the best PFD there is. My carbon board cannot sink! What a nightmare it would be if you find yourself out in deep water, add some wind to the equation, and find your inflatable deflating!!! 😮 Even if it’s not totally deflated and you’re essentially left motionless, a partial deflation will mean a very difficult paddle back to shore.
2-5 miles! The thought of that scares me! 😂 Brave man! You make a great point. Yes, stay close to shore with an inflatable paddle board and always bring a life vest with you! Thanks for watching and sharing your experience! Much appreciated! 🙌🏼😎🙌🏼
With my criticism of inflatables, I’m finding myself looking at buying one for travel purposes because I obviously can’t take my 14-foot hard board on trips. I’ve also had bad experiences with rental boards abroad, as they’re usually barges with big fat noses in their rental fleets. For the first time ever, I’m looking at inflatable racing-style boards. Any recommendations???
I’m buying too . I watch so many reviews and days watching which one to buy for a beginner and this video is the best by far .
