After using saddle soap to clean...one can use newspaper or cotton to fill the bag and help give it shape while it dries. (Just another helpful tip). 🤗
Wow. What I would have given to come across this bag, at a thrift store for $5. What a find that would have been. I am a regular thrift store shopper, and the things I find there...are amazing. And for very cheap.
Just found a saddleback large briefcase bag at an antique shop yesterday tucked away in a corner. Leather was a bit dry and I almost walked right past it. Once I opened it up and felt the leather and saw the SBL logo I about died…lady wanted $200 for it and I couldn’t whip my card out fast enough, it retails on SBL website for $600+ right now. Oiled it up last night and this is now my everyday day carry bag for life. Definitely swing by thrift and antique shops for built for life pieces!
Nice. The bag looks like it came from the Summer of 1967. The so-called, "Summer of Love"...lol. A very nice "hippie" bag. I can only imagine how gorgeous it was, brand new. ☀️😎☀️ You get a "like", and a new subscriber. Nice work.
A wash with Saddle Soap before conditioning would have led to a much better result ;o)
criminally underviewed

I also love shopping at pawn and thrift stores. This was a co-worker's bag that I asked if I could condition for him.

Hey thank you so much! Welcome
Two words!!! Saddle Soap!!! Always use saddle soap to clean leather before conditioning. (Just a helpful tip). 🤗
Thank you! I'll need to try that
I was so worried this was your bag 💼
I feel sorry for a vintage leather bag handled by inexperienced person.
Me too but it will be ok
