Just a side note for anyone that reads this I'll back up the advice on using sound gym, that site is pretty amazing, especially for those of you who can't use your studio monitors as much as you'd like to as I can't and have to rely on using a myriad of headphones.
There's so many useful tests and different training areas on there.

Nice vid. Thx! I'm struggling getting loudness, after my meters are topped out at -.5. I've watched vids, and read some stuff, but its still mystifies me. (Some folks are slower at things than others.)

One thing to remember is the low end will push your volume up, Without knowing where you are in your journey, if you don't know, Cut low end up to about 80htz from most things that are not the kick and bass, this will give you a lot more headroom to play with and you wont notice any difference in the sound. there are times when there is bass you cant hear on tracks such as snare and keys, and its adding you your overall volume without any sound you can hear.

@@NoNonsenseMusicTips Thx. I'm already using low and high cuts where needed and sidechaining as well. I may be favoring the bass and kick to much. Thx again

@@webguitars That's good then The other way to push perceived loudness is in the upper mids where the voice sits, we as humans pick that up more so some pushes in that area will help to make it sound louder
