Ted was in Louisville Kentucky, opening for KISS and him and his band, with Derick, came to a club where I was "teching" for 1 of the guitar players that was playing. The band asked me to ask Ted if he'd like to come up and play a song. Ted told me he'd come back to the dressing room. As a teen I drove 90 miles to Berkeley, CA to practice and play AAA Hockey. Practices were late nights. Coming back to the Sacramento Valley... tired and sore... I heard Stranglehold the first time in the wee hours of the morning. I cranked the radio up and was SOOO annoyed when the song ended. What had I just heard. I bought the cassette the next day after school and wore that tape out. Still one of my favorites.
And of course, Sammy's "Red" is on that favorites list too.

"Uncle Ted!" I love it! Two of my favorite rock and roll living legends together. I laughed so hard a few times my abs hurt. Everyone remembers Sammy up on stage equipment back in the day. I wonder if Iggy Pop climbed high? I need to research.

That story of Nuge plugging into Eddie’s rig and expecting to capture EVH’s sound still gives me a hearty chuckle. But he did give Ed his props instead of acting like a primadonna rock star. Badass!

Ted Nugent is an interesting cat. I've seen him twice live. on stage : he owns it, he is a ball of energy, he's there to entertain, he talks fast/plays great, he's in total control of himself and the room. I saw him on a bill with big names, experienced millionaire players, and he is so much more "natural" up there.. "stage presence"... even without many songs, honestly, the concert is great.. similarly, Sammy is a natural on stage..

What? Ted is a C level hack at guitar.
      1. Cannot get out of the blues scale (minor pentatonic scale).
      2. Has not advanced in chord structures since the Amboy Dukes.
      3. Can't find a subject matter deeper than sex.
The fact that Sammy Hagar would give this draft dodging child molester a platform is beyond shameful. I'm done with two bit Boomer entertainers who's time is long past. Ted Nugent? Bigoted hack.

Where others had to invent a character may it be a space man or make up ,Ted was himself and musically he is not known for one of the greatest but from a players perspective we was innovative and melodic leads with feedback that influenced a style used still today. And Sammy thanks your the greatest guy and best male vocalist ever .
