It actually IS a good way to make money. While it's not fast for you the player, it's super fast for the in game characters. All time stands still while you play so you can stack up tons of gold without worrying about the needs of your cult. If you go on a dungeon run someone could fall ill, become starving, start dissenting, and you can't do anything about it until you finish your run.
It's definitely a fun way if you're bored with the main game but ritual of enrichment is way better both considering in- and outgame time commitment. It definitely ISN'T a good way if you need money quick.

After maxing out the "tech tree" the devotion gets turned into money so you'll be swimming in it but of course by then money also becomes almost worthless. You fill a column right away in the first game, taking a huge risk. And you hesitate to take his triple 5 in the hope of getting a triple 6. Triple 6 is only 9 pts more than triple 5. So it’s a sure 45pts taken Vs a hypothetical +9. I feel like there was no hesitation to be had there.

The strategy I found is to be really aggressive (counter a lot), then when you have a strong point lead, try to fill up your board as fast as possible to win. Maybe take a few matches here and there (if you get the opportunity for a 4, 5 or 6 match) to help you get a lead. Also it's very heavily RNG so there's never a 'guaranteed' winning strategy. The aggressive strategy has worked for me tho I've only lost once every time I've played against all characters.

Yeah I'm not great at battles so I really just focused on my followers and now even though I've only defeated Leshy, just before him I unlocked all shrine and crown upgrades, so now I have too much money it feels like. Which is good, considering earlier on I fed my followers poop just so they wouldn't starve and played knucklebones to get enough money to support them lol

i spent a fair bit of time early on in my base and getting those upgrades so now i have Too Much Money before even finishing Anura lmao
