Ordered my son a custom 44 youth model this past weekend. Went with an 11.5, he picked the H web which surprised me, but I dig it, especially after hearing you talk about its versatility. Went red, white and blue w/ a litte tan paisley, should be sick.

My 13 year old son play’s 3rd and outfield. I just ordered him the pro 44 model, in a 12.25. Hopefully it is a good one for him!!

I play SS in slowpitch and I currently use a pro 44 11.75 model, I can't play with anything bigger than that. Would the 574 in the same size be better or worse? Or is it just going to be preference?
I agree that’s their best pattern. My only gripe is cosmetic. I wish they would default a logo or a script Forty Four on the index so it’s not blank if you don’t want to spend the extra. Also I wish 44 would just start curving the thumb welting down mid thumb. That would increase the comfort so much.

Hey Ball Glove King, have an idea for a future. I do have glove that you could use for this video. Thoughts on Gill laces on outfield glove. And a potential break in video of former Rockies big leaguer Carlos Gonzalez leather Nike glove. However mine is 44 pro glove.
excellent review man. my biggest gripe with 44 for sure is inconsistency, but i also can't stand how uncomfortable they are usually. thats the one thing Wilson and Rawlings do is you put your hand in that glove and its just comfy. the thumb and pinky liners that hold your hand in are super raw and uncomfortable on 44's for me. maybe i'm just spoiled though

I put sarna glove conditioner and it feels a lot smoother than not putting anything at all ( raw)

i love the way they feel, but for softball i wanted to go for duel welting, so i got the normal Pro44 instead. if i could afford to buy all the gloves in the world, id make the 574 my gamer

Hey I found this Rawlings glove called the Rawlings PRO204-2BCC. I guess it has a pro preferred shell with a HOH palm. I was just curious if you knew anything about this glove and if it’s good or not.

The stock outfield model is solid, I’d still go with the 12.75 574 model

Thanks for this review, i mean i love 44's gloves since they let you customize it, but it does has its cons. From my experience it felt very uncomfortable when i got it, their leather isnt very consistant, its like sometimes its harder than usual. Rawlings feels way better, 44 should work on it. OTher than that, 44 is awesome.
totally man, and that's part of why 44 is cheaper
44 also does improve every year but to fix that I put some sarna glove rub/conditioner and now it’s smooth/ comfortable

It was my first glove so break in could have gone better because I’m breaking it in traditional compared to 2 in the pinky and I haven’t hit watered it so just mallet work. So I’m gonna get conditioner so it softens up. Cold where I am so can’t really throw so just more mallet work and stuff. Totally recommend tho!
Hey there king. I got the 574 and it feels great. I was just wondering though if the pinky and thumb stalls are supposed to be so tight. It's kinda a challenge to get my thumb into the stall.
I would suggest inserting something that is slightly bigger than your thumb and pinky fingers (or two in the pinky) and set it aside for a day or so. This will stretch the stalls and leather. Maybe a wooden dowel, small hammer handle, etc. that gives you a slightly larger representation of your thumb.
Undo the loop ties though as your goal is just to stretch the leather in those stalls.

Jus got a 11.75 574 (thought I ordered 11.5) and was thinking of getting a different model 11.5, with main 3 I’m considering being the pro44, ex-10, and japan select. Any recommendations?

For slowpitch it would likely work well
I’d say put it in special instructions that you’ll be using for softball
If it’s for a girl playing softball just be aware that the hand stall will be bigger
How do u suggest I should brake in my gamer xle for out field and second base?
probably stick with a two in the pinky and if you feel comfortable you could switch to traditional for infield

I've always loved Rawlings leather but I have really come to appreciate the shape and build on Wilson gloves

So I'm in the process of breaking in my new glove and I'm getting this annoying squeaking sound coming from one of the hinges (like the sound you mentioned on the Rev1x). What can I do to get rid of that? I'm hoping it goes away as it breaks in.

I love my 44 glove. Using it for the past 4 years in men's uppers softball. Have infield and outfield gloves. I had an A2K and didn't like the fit.
