i remembered going to Kaimuki Theatre in the 70's to watch the surf movie that played Kalapana music on the big screen. Went back for 2nd show next nite. Just couldn't get enuff. Whole crowd was either hooting on the big wave barrels and singing in harmony to Kalapana. So cool.

This is probably the twentieth consecutive time I've watched this video tonight n it probably isn't going to end at 20. What a gifted singer/song writer Malani was. Kalapana was a few years before my time,but loved listening to their songs.
Love this song and the beautiful Hawai'i surf... and then there's the ride on the train in Japan to the typical summer beach there -- very crowded with lots of stands selling things, and the brown water and sand... It really makes you appreciate the many classic moments that we take for granted in Hawai'i.
Sitting with my one year old on my lap and he seems to be mesmerized as i was years ago when i first heard this classic. And i'm an old man who welcomed his second child lol!
