Outstanding. I’ve heard the Dead play this a million times (1st set song-always) and even Phil and Friends on Sunday. But hey, Goose can play it this way any day of the week. I’ll listen happily!
@@mitch__techthat's what I'm saying there was a comment at the top and the dude was saying that goose doesn't have spark or soul and that they don't have the " the juice" like bro are you smoking meth they are one of the only bands right now with "the juice" LMAO
I saw them about 175 times. Saw Half Step my 1st two shows. With 2 more times after that. I was either a day late or they played it the next day after I went It's my favorite song.
8th Goose show of 37 for me. Good show. Solid, but probably not top ten for me at this point. I was super pumped to get this cover because 2019 Peach and Paradise videos were the shows that turned me on to Goose. Glad this popped up tonight, great memories! I met some now lifelong friends at LV 22 that I recently spent Goosemas X with!
@@oscarbrittingham-detxemend396 I saw your question right away and have been thinking... and thinking. The two hottest shows I've seen that also seem to have flown beneath the radar were the two at the National in Richmond September of '22. The first night bonus was their third Spain cover (of three - the others were in 2015 and 2016). I could go on and on about those shows but I'll just add the second night included Madhuvan, Empress and Hot Tea, three of my favorites and I think Rick was on fire those shows. Check them out! They opened with Dr. Darkness and second up was Doc Brown - both were smokin'! Ooops, now I said more. (Now I'm adding more still - the Jive Lee from Richmond is top notch) The first night in London was just about the perfect dream setlist for me, other than the Fish in the Sea cover to open the second set and no Madhuvan (got that night two). And of course it was the freakin' Electric Ballroom so it was like a party with 1500 close friends. The second night at Legend Valley '21 was possibly the most fun show. The boys were having so much fun that second set after Elmeg and the Madhuvan-Moby-Madhuvan sandwich they played around during Earthling and Strokin' which unfortunately they haven't played since. Also the LV '21 experience included Brokedown Palace encore night one. The New Years Midnight Madhuvan sandwich from last year, the April Fools Jive Lee, Factory Fiction and Labrynth and Hot Tea from RRX '23, Fire set and Jungle set from Goosemas X... ok, my wife said put down the keyboard 🤣 I may have lost focus anyway... it's like Sophie's Choice here.
Goosemas X was amazing, I was at the Virginia Hampton coliseum and it was definitely a top 5, Bruce Hornsby was there and they play just the way it is😮
Not a hater. I like em it was ok . I'd like to see them continue to improve as a unit in transition an turn around they are pretty good I think everyones looking for a place to go. It's cool I'll be around BMFS😊
I agree. When covering iconic songs from iconic bands they should embrace their differences (why Phish, for example, is so good at covering other bands’ music). He needs to cut down on the tech in my humble opinion. Overall I thought it was a better cover than 90+% of what I’ve heard from other bands over the years.
@@TheRealLange21 The piezo option is hard to tell from afar, save for the extra switch and blending pot, and of course the second input jack. At any rate, he plays it beautifully.
I've been noticing that in every jam band these days. They're all unbelievably skilled musicians, truly some stellar playing. But they lack the juice. It's nothing to do with tempo or note choice or anything like that, it's some sort of lacking in human feeling. Unsure how to place what exactly it is, but it's just not there.
@@henryhawkins7966they one of the only bans rn with the juice wtf are you talking about? Rick can get down and sing his heart out, Peter is great as a back up with amazing vocals and kills the keys... I listen to all types of music, I make music myself, I'm a producer...so out of all people who's opinion should be taken over is most definitely mine lol, you go watch them live and you are truly mesmerized
This is a tremendous interpretation of this great Grateful Dead standard. Bravo!

Uh huh. They have that touch that makes all covers special.

Wow
Lol, and people say they're not the next Phish...
Does he play a Languedoc?
Maybe, but that particular guitar looks like some variant of PRS HollowBody II, the other a Suhr Strat style.
@@citrix99301 It’s a PRS Hollowbody II Piezo

Why change the word from daddy to papa?
Because Rick is a big fan of Stranger Things
Pretty sure Jerry switched to papa at times also.
Ive heard versions were Jerry even says Mamma
Good musicians but sort of missing the energy of the song -
Ur wrong

I don’t want to sound critical or unappreciative but I think there is too much practice and not enough play
