@@foxfroth2179 Same, so I've been watching quite a bit of late. This video is incredibly soothing and energizing as the review and bits of information about history or the type of steel fill up the idea tank, so to speak.

This "Falke" one is definitely by far the messer reproduction that has my preference. Love the handle, long quillions and curved blade. And it looks like it cuts like hell!
@@babysealsareyummy It should be known that Albion will be producing a new kriegsmesser. Not the same model, but a new make. It'll be some time, of course.
@babysealsareyummy I spoke to Mike from Albion at Combat Con and asked about the Knecht. He said they were not going to bring it back, but they do have plans to produce a new kriegsmesser.
I would recommend making a video, advice for new sword makers, what to expect. I eventually want to make and sell swords once I get the proper forging tooling and experience. A lot of younger people like myself have gotten into bladesmithing. Would be cool to hear a sword collector's expectations.
For work purposes, I use a machete alongside other tools in brush and land clearing. With that being said the messer held up better than many machete´s I have used in the past, honestly shocked at how much wood the blade was able to chop through with little to no damage.
A friend gave me the "Bauernwehr" by Landsknechts Emporium as a birthday present. It is such a rigid, sharp, and well designed knife that I'll probably give it to my children one day.

The blade and on this is stunning. The curve, simple fuller, and profile taper... wow what a sword. Very different than the albion but then it is supposed to be.
If I had around 1k USD to drop on a good sword, I'd LOVE to get that one. Beautiful sword, and looks fun as hell to cut with! Thanks for another awesome video Skal!
Hi, the scabbard is not included in the price, it's €252 on top. Thanks for the closeups, I was wondering how the quality of their Kriegsmesser is. The Langmesser from LE can be very... lets charitably call it "rustic" in the hilt department
Incredible looking sword and for the price to performance and my personal preference towards the simple yet elegant styling with the additional scabbard and knives I would love either but wow bravo. Really enjoyed the camera perspective showing how invisible the blade becomes when being presented at the correct angle I imagine following the guard or hands is of high importance to keep track of the movement.
Definitely my favourite one to this date. I don't know, it's something about the big guard and deeply curved blade. And it also has my favourite kind of nagel.
Dual wielding a kriegsmesser and bauernwehr, sorta like a rapier and parrying dagger. It would be a cool idea since messers aren't usually that heavy, and them both having nagel to be handguards. At the very least it be cool do in larping or a fantasy setting.
As someone who's always had problems with mosquitoes ruining my evening walks near the riviera whenever I go to the sea for holidays, mosquitoes are always located the most at or near the beach. So be on the lookout for that.
I'd love to see a video explaining the physical characteristics and attributes of the different specific kinds of weapons in moderate detail. You know, like what is a spadroon? What's a partisan? At what point does a spear become a halberd? When is it a sidesword and not a rapier?
A spear just has a point. A halberd has an axe blade and a back spike, as well. As for rapier/ sidesword, you're looking at length: a rapier should come up to the armpit, while a sidesword will be significantly shorter, and while some rapiers are three edged, sideswords almost always are. And spadroons are garbage.
I thoroughly enjoyed this. I like that you kept the bit and at the end with the mosquitoes. It would be hilarious for you to do a review and comparison of of electric shock mosquito tennis racket looking devices.
