Wha..silly string? SILLY string?! Exactly how much money did you save on this movie, Poorly Animated Hawk? "Quite a lot, but not nearly enough to pay for all the medications Jack needed at the time. Heh! Good times..."
"That and there was sell at the party store and we couldn't resist. After the movie was done we did birthday parties, we'd add Jack in as a special offer for the kids to 'beat' and be the hero."
I coulda liked this movie, the Giant is my favorite guy in the bunch, along with the blind chick from the Fable series, but Palance's blinding wide-eyed hammery and Hawk's lack of ANYTHING kinda muffled the spark. Loved the riffs tho' lovely compilations~
No fuckin' shit! I love when that happens, like noticing the albino from Nightmare at Noon was also the General in Fifth Element and one of the replicants in Bladerunner~
There's a part of me thinks that this film was originally going to be a western. I mean they've got Jack Palance, an actor known for staring in a lot of westerns, the Morricone like music stings, the constant quick draw showdowns, and I get the sense that Crow was suppose to be a Native American. But it could just be me.
Additional note: 2:02 - Hi Jago from Doctor Who and speaking of Doctor Who, the actor playing Ranulf played the older version Canton Delaware in the Impossible Astronaut.
And there are a couple of other well-known and actually talented British actors in the cast. Roy Kinnear (Innkeeper) was Veruca's father in "Willy Wonka" among other roles, and Patrick Magee (Priest) was in "Chariots of Fire" and "A Clockwork Orange".
Wow! That's a good one. No wonder "Hawk the Slayer" is a favorite movie of the Knights of the Dinner Table. (That's a reference to a great Chicago based comic book about fantasy role playing.) Look them up! They mention Hawk several times and really seem to enjoy watching it.
Like I said before in another video....the ROTOR one: "This has LOTS of Great & Hilarious Riffs & Moments and, I do enjoy watching it all over again & again!!!" RLMAO!!!
You know, just from what I've seen and heard of Hawk The Slayer, outside of the sillier aspects like Jack Palance hamming it up in a role he's far too old for and using silly string and colored ping pong balls as "magic", this might be one of the most generic fantasy movies ever, with no sort of real hook or gimmick or anything to make it stand out from other fantasy movies. Seems like the guys at Rifftrax got some great mileage out of it, though.
bradwatson7324 Amen to that. I LOVE Hawk the Slayer! I remember watching it at like 1 am on an NBC weekend late movie show and being amazed there was a movie with an elf and magic and all that in it. It has a place of honor among all my movies.
WTF?! As if the movie wasn't corny enough we now get silly string and glowing ping-pong balls @ 4:10. What were they smoking when they wrote the script to this movie? This was bad, even by '80s fantasy movie standards.
Some of the movies they find are incredibly bad. I'm amazed that they were even conceived, much less completed. This is definitely one of those movies.
It looks like Jack Palance got his helmet from Dumb Donald of the Fat Albert show.
Is it a Pizza Hut? Is it KFC? Weary traveller, IT IS BOTH!
I have a hard but rewarding task for you.
: Tying your weiner in a knot.
I asked my husband how that could be rewarding. I guess you have to be a guy to get that one... Or, I was slow witted that day.
+Mondo Connie As a guy... I'm not seeing the draw of it, either.
Wha..silly string? SILLY string?! Exactly how much money did you save on this movie, Poorly Animated Hawk?

This movie clearly had a cocaine account, also.
"That and there was sell at the party store and we couldn't resist. After the movie was done we did birthday parties, we'd add Jack in as a special offer for the kids to 'beat' and be the hero."
1:27 Don't give up, Skeleton!
We need more than 5 minutes! These guys are great!
We have got thee to a mutha *bleeping Nunnery!
This is like "Baywatch" for people who enjoy horse butts.
So, bronies.
This movie has one of the funniest Yngwie Malmsteen references I've ever heard. RiffTrax thinks of everything.
hahahahaha
i love yngwieeeeeeee
This movie really did have it coming! 😖
Nickel The Wise The Giant is also the Cyclops in Krull.
No fuckin' shit! I love when that happens, like noticing the albino from Nightmare at Noon was also the General in Fifth Element and one of the replicants in Bladerunner~
Ooh, I'd buy this in a heartbeat
Why Jack, Why?

"How does the scenery taste Jack"
A Thomas Kinkade reference, ha ha.

Oh yeah.
And Patrick Magee was Surgeon Reynolds in one of my favorite movies "Zulu"
OHMYGOSH IT IS HIM!! I Love Christopher Benjamin! This is nuts!

Hawk The Slayer is one of the reasons I'm proud to be British, which will give you some idea what life in here in the UK is like.
😄😃😀😊
I imagine the UK is just crawling with a lot of Americans with mullets.
You've no idea what trouble their crossbows and clanking armour causes on the tube.
Like I said before in another video....the ROTOR one:

Thank you. Feel free to watch it as many times as you want! I know I watch them all sporadically, and some continuously. No judgement here!
1:30 So, bronies would love this movie.
At 0:14, Mike said "Did you have him when he was three?" He should have said "Did you have him when you were three?"

Does Hawk the Slayer have several problems? Sure. But it's still a fun swords and sorcery genre movie to watch, and I'm glad it was made.

Just how low are your standards?
2:46-- Matthew Sweet
Hilarious!

Mondo Connie Absolutely, Connie!
