The Tallinn - Helsinki is projected as a continuity og the Rail Baltica project so It should definitely happen at some point. Never ever. It's just an idea to give money to the mafia and to corrupt politician. It's four decades we speak about this bridge, already spent over a billion euros, and nothing happened until now.
After years of investment, Renfe's commuter trains run without major issues. There's also a robust network of night trains in the Iberian Peninsula, as well as a clear plan to improve regional services. Dreaming is free they say!
I'd like ticketing of EU trains to be easier... I guess we do the Fehmarn tunnel and Rail Baltica first. Hopefully we do it before a Gibraltar Strait railtunnel is finished.
So you're the person who disliked it? :) Actually, I said twice in the video that this is not real news, but my fantasies about what I would like to see.
@@tomiomii I wanted to do it this way to show that some projects are so logical and relevant that it's strange that they haven't become news yet. This is especially relevant to the high-speed rail in Canada.

The new Tram System for the City of Kiel, germany is ready. After Finishing the First three sections featuring a 35km network, two extensions are being built.
My personal dream Urban News is more of what I wish would happen with transit in my city: - Modernisation of Caracas Metro's first 6 series of trains, except for one S1 train which will be preserved as a historical train and used for presentations every so often - Recovery of Caracas Metro's decaying rail tracks and bus routes - Finalisation of Metro Guarenas Guatire, Caracas Metro's Line 4 extension, and Metro Los Teques extension, and construction of Lines 5 and 6 - Construction of an RER-like system in parallel to Caracas Metro, to decrease travel times, future-proof the system, and further reduce congestion (which the projects above already would, but would also induce a bit more demand because it's gonna have more coverage) - Construction of a national rail network in Venezuela, that also connected with the three Guianas, and with Colombia this is likely never gonna happen though
As much as I love the trans-andean HSR, the route you proposed is too unrealistic; if it were to actually happen, it would NOT go through Santiago, Córdoba, or Rosario, rather, it'd probably jse the General San Martín National Railroad's route, be it its historic route (which passed throu San Luis capital) or its current one, and would have to go deep underground on Mendoza to avoid the city and its conurbation, so it would have to connect with the Metrotram at some point to allow passengers to get to the mendozan city center. To get to Rosario and Córdoba, you'd have to make the General Bartolomé Mitre National Railroad high speed, as it's broad (indian (1676mm)) gauge, as opposed to the General Manuel Belgrano National Railroad, which is meter gauge, which leads us to the next problem: it leads to more places, such as Salta via Córdoba and Tucumán, and is very much used for cargo, so we're out of luck, which means we either have to regauge the whole thing, or we have to build new infrastructure.
Since we are only fantasizing, in our (okay, in my) imaginary world, it will be a completely newly built line with minimal use (or no use at all) of the old tracks.
@@jeremybird5739 Because most of the right owned by the government of Ontario to the West of Toronto goes to Kitchener, Tracks have less crossings to eliminate, land acquisition is cheaper, and you hit Guelph and Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo which has higher population growth and more regional pull than Hamilton. Correction regarding London Ontario's Rapid Transit: the light rail project was scrapped several years ago in favour of a bus rapid transit system instead. I just double-checked to verify whether any new light rail project had been suddenly proposed but there isn't.

Fictional news I'd love to see for the US (and a bit of Canada) would be true High Speed train service between Atlanta, Georgia & Boston, Massachusetts with stops at the obvious cities in between. Perhaps with an expansion across the border to Montreal on the way. High Speed Rail between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, with expansion to Detroit and Chicago in the works. Passenger train service restored to Bangor, Maine then through to Saint John and Moncton, New Brunswick. I'd also love to see expanded congestion pricing in New York City, then Boston, Washington DC, Chicago, Philadelphia, and San Francisco. And pipe dream of pipe dreams, I'd love to see a return of the DC Streetcar. Finally finishing the H Street line, but also adding a line from Foggy Bottom to the Georgetown campus via M Street, and at least one North-South line between the Downtown and Silver Spring, probably along the 7th St/Georgia Ave bus corridor (the most used bus route in the system). There are some corridors in the city that aren't super well served by Metro, and for which the bus simply isn't enough. Not to mention M St in Georgetown needs to have major traffic calming and reduction, and a streetcar with a dedicated lane could help.
I hope the Messina bridge will not get built anytime soon for 2 reasons: - It has been a vanity project of the right ever since - Transit wise it would only increase car traffic and put more strain on road infrastructure on both sides. Cargo is being shipped way more efficiently anyways by large ships between Sicily and the different places in main land Italy. Furthermore the first thing they would cut is the rail connection because the car brained government doesn't like trains.
I was particularly interested in the new tram line of Fake London, especially as they apparently renovate the whole street Barcelona style. Where did you get the render? I'm asking as I've never heard of a plan to extend the tram to Avinguda del Marquès de l'Argentera - which will definitely benefit from this. It's a short street but too wide and not very pleasant and this could also revive the train station there - which is the only old at grade station in the classic style. It's a beautiful station but with low usage and requires renovation.
And remove minimum parking requirements within a certain distance of each tram stop in "Fake London" and within a certain distance of the railway station.
