Mate, thanks a lot for your channel and these weekly updates specifically.
Glad you like them!
4:22 I just want to point out that this is the South Lake Union Streetcar in Seattle which was built alongside tech campuses and sees extremely low ridership because of the poor routing choice. On the other side of Downtown, we have the First Hill Streetcar, which IIRC sees the 2nd highest ridership of any streetcar in the states. You picked a poor example and then pondered why we would invest in a “slow and inefficient transportation” that sees 300 riders a day. One was designed well, the other wasn’t.
Latest update on Toronto's bike lanes: They are now attacking the other three major bike lanes in the city.
For the next episode: Switzerland voted not to expand its motorways in 6 key urban sections.
Yeah! The new City for all news! In Paris, drivers who simply have their destination inside the zone can still drive there. Interesting to note that several Toronto business owners established on the streets mentioned have expressed their support of the bike lanes, saying that they've improved business, and that removing them would be a loss for them.
I hope Manila gets included in the next video, about the opening of the Line 1 Cavite Extension.
JAKARTA SHIT CITY NEEDS IT URGENTLY

Ontario is sure to become a Pariah state if Doug Ford wins Ontario's next state election.
Nah, the Slovak government (and their voters) is going full-ass culture war (similar to the US). They view the West as degenerated so they definitely don´t want to look at Western countries as something to aspire to. And it doesn't matter what topic is in question.
It’s not the people of Toronto, it’s just the premier
It’s Doug Fartface Ford
@@blackpanda7298 That is vulgar.
The actions of the Ontario conservative government are very unpopular with the public and the city government. It is all a cover up to try and get planned highways exempt from environmental studies in a naturally protected area. It is very corrupt and it has started an all out culture way against bikes. The removal would be at the cost of billions and would absolutely cripple the city. There have been regular protests against it. I should also mention that this is all leading up to a provincial election.
the car ban in paris center is not applicable in practice. They have no way to actually check if you're going through or stopping there. I think even things like checking the plates would not be allowed due to data protection laws
Yes it's difficult but mainly aimed at forcing GPS apps to reroute people to avoid the area. If your destination is not within the area, the app will make you go around. Since many people drive by following GPS, it's gonna work.
how about bollards and make some streets completly podestrian

Peñalosa said that and proceeded to give us the worst public transit system to Bogotá. And today we are paying the price. I hate that he is admired knowing all the damage that he has done to Bogotá citizens.
No only he destroyed the public system but also the health system in Bogotá.
One person has since succumbed to injuries, thus 15 people died and 2 persons are in critical health condition. One of them is a young woman, age of 23 who got both of her legs amputated and a part of a pelvis. She is married and has a baby. After this homicide 11 people resigned and Goran Vesić is arrested.

G'day CFA, sounds like you have lots of material, but another one for your list will be the 21Km Morley-Ellenbrook rail extension in Perth, Western Australia, which is opening in a few weeks, on 9 December 2024. You should find it with a search for Metronet Morley-Ellenbrook Line Project. Keep up the great work!
Budapest: New orders of CAF trams, of which the first one has arrived. In the next two years, many lines will get their first low-floor trams. The extension of lines is set to start soon. Extension of the Trolley Bus System. The plan is to double it by 2030 with self-driving buses. Having the M2 take over Suburban lines 8 and 9 has been green-lit, and the surveys and plans for connecting their terminus at Ors Vezer Ter have begun.
The 2bn extension in Geneva includes two double-track tunnels on either side to connect the new underground station to the airport on one side and to the main line towards the rest of Switzerland on the other, as well as the creation of two new accesses to the existing surface station and new passages overall to increase flow capacity. Works have already been going on for a few years, since in the spirit of CFF the disruption to existing traffic must be minimised, hence the long construction period and the high cost too. New tracks have been constructed in nearby Meyrin to increase parking capacity; a new maintenance shed has been built in Geneva, the old cleaning tunnel has been replaced; the yard in Geneva is being reconstructed to simplify its operation, and the largest electronic interlocking system in the country as well as new signalling has already been completed and will enter operation next week when the station will close for roughly 24h.
For the Barcelona tram extantion, They've tried to do this for years with no success as many of the reach people living above Diagonal and some of the businesses along diagonal objected too this connection as it will narrow the overly wide Diagonal. The section that opened was one of the successes of the previous mayor Ada Colau (which I had some disagreements with what she did but with urbanism she did a great job). The new mayor, from the socialist party (PSOE) wanted to do it but he didn't have a majority coalition and those who backed him from the outside were the wing parties so he said that the 2nd stage will be postponed till after the next city elections but thy managed to sign a deal with Esquerra Republicana (a left wind separatist party) and they backed him up on that. a short time after that the socialist president of the Generalitat (the government of Catalunya) did the same with Esquerra Republicana so now there is a majority on both the city and the Generalitat, which means that, also not fully approved yet, it is very likely that the 2nd phase will start during 2025. This will make Francesc Macià square a major transit hub as in addition to the tram and buses they are building there a new metro station for L8, which will connect the current terminus of this line, and other FGC commuter train through a station in Hospital Clínic (connecting to the L5 metro) and on at Grácia (connecting for the first time the FGC terminus in Pl. Espanya to their 2nd major line that starts at Pl. Catalunya). There are plans to continue and extend it further in the future. The 3rd possible project is a new Rodallies (regional rail) tunnel under Diagonal with stations at Zona Univeritaria (the main campus of the Univercity of Barcelona) and Francesc Macià, which is is now under a feasibility study. This is considered an important project to to relief the congested lines of Rodalies and create a new connection that does not pass through Sants train station.
why are cardinal head trees called such a funny namr and i wonder if cardnal bird if the a ear resident in the netherlands live in that type tree.
Yeah! New City for All video! The Barcelona tram is good, but the metro is really great and covers the city very well. The trams really are more of a complement to the metro.
Trams are better for people using strollers and those with wheelchairs. Underground means that it takes time for them to reach the platforms. Trams also stops much better than buses.
@@MichalBergseth-AmitopiaTV I'm well aware of the PRM issues, being one of them. But the reach and coverage of the metro is unparalleled and, if fully accessible everywhere, would be even greater. Trams are great in general, especially the modern French / European style ones with 100% low floor like those Alstom ones. But trams are not on par with metros on capacity and speed. There surely are extremely busy and long tramway lines, like Paris T3a & T3b, which regularly carry over 700k passengers a day, but they aren't fast, and the overcrowding is anything but comfortable... Most rush hour passengers of these sister lines would prefer a faster, higher capacity metro even if, in general, they prefer surface tramways. During peak rush hours, these lines sometimes crawl down to barely 15 kilometers per hour of average speed. Usually, they run between 16 and 18 kilometers per hour on average when there's a bit of traffic. That's why many passengers on the T3a (the Southern one) can't wait for the Southern section of M15 to open. It would be a detour for some of them, but will be much faster and less crowded. I guess trams are not slowed as much in Barcelona during rush hours, but I'm pretty sure most longer distance passengers are more eagerly awaiting the opening of the central section of metro L9-L10 rather than the central tram section connecting the two isolated halves of the tram network. Lines L9-L10 being fully accessible and running substantially faster, the passengers going, for example, from around Zona Universitaria to Badalona, would better use the metro than the tram. Less direct, but probably much faster, and with more capacity. I love trams, but the speed and capacity is far from ideal on longer and busier journeys.
Most of the metro and regional rail in Valencia has suffer serious damage due to flooding. Some improvements are planed (such as electrification of regional rail lines that need to be reconstructed)
The transitions between topics, along with the sound, is nice. Good choice!
Thanks!
This week I was able to see that new tram line in Barcelona, I hope they build the tram on the whole Diagonal quickly, because now it is kinda weird that this connection is lacking
Best wishes and lots of strenght for Novi Sad and its residents. Politicians and construction companies should be ashamed of what they've caused.

Great hope they get to fix bridges and public traffic too.
This is very good bu, of course, she had to change it to make it look like she stopped it for an actual reason, so the tax for regular cars went down from $15 to $9, overnight prices are also down from $3.75 to $2.25, multi-unit trucks and sightseeing buses will pay $21.60, instead of $36 and smaller trucks (single-unit), pickup trucks and some types of vans $14.40 instead of $24. motorcycles will pay $4.50 during the day, yellow taxis $0.75 and "ride share, like Uber and Lyft $1.50. Car owners who earns less the $50,000 a year will get a 50% discount after from their 10th entry each month, car owners living inside the zone and earn less than $60,000 will get a tax rebate for any toll they've paid and there are other discounts for those who pay a toll to cross the Lincoln or Holland tunnels into Manhattan ($3) or entering/exiting the area via the Queens-Midtown or Brooklyn-Battery tunnels during peak hours ($1.5 credit for private vehicles) and more They made it too complicated and allowed more to enter for less which will lower the effectiveness and the money collected for public transit improvements for nothing.
And as someone who lives in the congestion pricing zone, thank fuck for that.
@@kirkrotger9208 If you live in this area you most likely have a bit of money and also have plenty of options to move around without a car and, in the end, you'll enjoy far less traffic. That said, if you earn less than $60,000 a year you might be qualify for a tax credit in the amount of tolls paid (the exact details are not published yet but the congestion pricing only starts in January).

Hey, You missed some news from yesterday! On Sunday 10th a new portion of the Barcelona tramway opened arriving for the first time to the Eixample grid. It's part of a bigger project to connect the two tramway systems of the city through Glories sqare and the Diagonal avenue.
