DBK Boys! Hello from California! I've been enjoying your channel for a while now, really good stuff! I was trying out some technique while camping in the Sierra Nevada mountains last week, very fun. Hey, how about a DBK dog on the channel? Dogs and bushcraft seem to go together. Nice job guys.
Nice O'neill shorts Martin! Did you go to Santa Cruz, California? That is where I am from. My girlfriend, CathyAnn and I are fans of your videos. Keep them coming so I have an excuse to buy more knives! I own the BPS Adventurer, and 3 other full size BPS knives, (B1, HK5, & BS2FTS), she owns the small one, BS1FTS you showed, but did not talk about!... You guys have to try the awesome B1 Bushcraft, which is a very good copy of the Condor Bushlore, but less expensive and for a better cause. That and the Adventurer are my favorites. I have all the Moras and a couple Hultafors as well from watching your videos. Thank you so much for enthusiastic entertainment, just maybe less close up crotch shots please.
BPS are amazing people making amazing knives. Seriously... Brovary (where they make the knives) was a hotspot of the war back in March... as soon as the Russians were kicked out of town they were back at it making kickass knives.

After carrying a Ka-Bar issued by the US Marines I bought a BPS Adventurer and no longer use my Ka-Bar. My Adventurer is the only fixed blade knife I carry now.
Have both... the USMC ka-bar is a beast... I have used it as a hammer, pry bar, kitchen knife and bushcraft knife... the Ka-bar has never failed me....easy to sharpen and always faithful... The Ukraine knife is good but not better than the USMC Ka-bar
@uriskall The ADVENTURER will never be as good as the Ka-Bar, I just like the scandi grind and lite weight now that I'm 56 with arthritis in both knees. (Rucks won't cause knees problems though right?!) 🤣
I get so tired of people using military experience to justify ostentatious knives. 21 years AD, Army, Infantry, EOD, 4x deployments, etc. Everyone I know, who carried around a Ka-bar, was mocked roundly and deservedly so. The utility of a ka-bar when a pocket knife, a small Gerber or Leatherman, will do is greatly diminished in comparison.
@@InitialFailure My father carried a Ka-bar all through WWII in the Pacific. It never failed him. He never needed to use it. A Korea vet told me that the only two issued items the men liked were the M-1 rifle and the Ka-bar knife. The Ka-bar is a fine knife for hand-to-hand combat.
@BeefT-Sq that's fantastic that a knife your father never used, never failed him. ... Say that out loud to yourself a few times, and then ask yourself if that sounds impressive. ... It doesn't, does it?
I just got in the Adventurer recently and I am really impressed with it. It came as sharp as anything I've ever got out of the box with a good even grind. Sharp spine, handle scales contoured perfectly to the tang, no lips or dips. And then there's a the great leather sheath with both a firesteel loop AND a dangler included which is my preference. It's taken the place in my backpack from my Gerber as a much better all rounder. Only slight downside is not stainless but with constant use it will never rust. How they can produce this quality for the price is just awesome.
@@rodog504yeah but tbh if u force patina the blade with mustard or vinegar it would become pretty much rust resistand. And bc its carbon 1066 it keeps a better edge than their stainless
I have one, the HK1S model (I think it's the best, you should test that one too, trust me on the blade geometry for carving). It's the first knife I forced a patina on and since the handle is easily removable, doing so was simple. It has become my favorite, so much character for such a simple blade. A great knife for the $$$, the sheath was worth the $30 imo. Glad they are getting some love from DBK!
I have the smaller BPS since january, very simple to sharpen, edge retain long enough to completely gut out two wild pigs without need to resharpen it. Light weight, good for work with firesteel and price was amazing...
Linen micarta handles would be my choice for rough use. Drill ,file and sandpaper. Very straightforward task. I would put a layer of rubberized fiber ,between the handle material and tang, to reduce transmitted vibrations. I’m not throwing or beating on mine, so I’m enjoying the luxury of fine walnut.
Bought a bunch of BPS knives when the Russians invaded thinking their factory might be bombed into oblivion. Quality blades at affordable prices! Great way to help support the good guys...
I got the adventure a couple years ago actually and was really surprised when it chipped while batoning and then the tip ended up breaking but always happy to see another great video from DBK
BPS! I've been interested in these for a while (they popped up on Amazon before the war). It was good to see knife communities going out and getting one to support a business affected by what's going on in the region.
I bought a bps knife several years ago, honestly the knife itself is fantastic but they definitely hand picked your sheathes or changed something up because mine came all types of warped. I think at the time they only had one knife that they were making and it definitely outperformed my mora for the price
I bought one three years ago and it is a very very good blade. Used to skin and cut up several deer and wild hogs. Holds an edge way better than the majority of those crappy stainless steel production knives on the American market. I have NO stainless steel hunting knives. My favorite ones are garage sale finds from the 1950-1960’s. Real high grade carbon that wasn’t die punched junk. Ground down from blade blanks and hand finished. Quality which is damn near impossible nowadays
@@Glockler stainless is ok for hunting use. Might keep a fine grit stone handy for a quick edge touch up. Especially if you drag the edge on a bone. It won’t keep a razor sharp edge like a good high carbon steel blade does. Search online there are some good carbon steel hunting style that aren’t that expensive.
Most of the bps knife's are 1066 hc and its a little soft i have 4 of them but! when they stop being sharp a strop on my belt makes them paper slicing sharp again...great knife's for what you pay and you can wait up to 8 weeks in my experience to have one shipped and this was way before the Ukraine/russian conflict started.

Bps knives are superb values. I have bought about 7 of their models on Amazon. What you can get for 30 dollars in one of their knives is amazing. The come near hair whittling sharp out the pack better then hair popping sharp. The sheaths are done excellent. The handles are done well. Flat out they are amazing values.
I keep buying Bps knives to try and help the Ukrainian war effort. I’ll be buying another one next month. Your an awesome company from an amazing country 😊
Really glad to know that BPS is still alive and well. Picked up my Adventurer for about $30, well over a year ago. I too, was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the ferro rod and sheath, for the overall price. I carry the smaller one on my hip, every day. They both arrived wicked sharp, and will be with me for life. Slava Ukraini! 🇺🇦
Glad to see you covering BPS knives. I have 3 of them and they are all really good blades. A year or so ago I suggested that you check them out, so I was glad to see this video.
I have the BPS B1, honestly for the price I would recommend this 100%. I bought it to be a bit of a rough use beater but it'll probably never die. Between this and a mora... get both. But if you must get only one if its this or anything other than the Garberg, the BPS is better. Nice wood scales, full tang, thick leater sheath. On value and in hand it's better than all moras except the Garberg. And even against the garberg I still prefer BPS because of the nice wood scales and leather sheath instead of plastic.
Bushcraft Black, is a better knife than the Garberg. Garberg isn't a true survival knife, neither a 100% bushcraft knife design, it's somwhere between. Buchcraft Black on the other hand, is a hell of a buchcraft knife! It also has a way better handle and all that at 1/3 of the price that Garberg Costs. I would choose the Bushcraft Black over any of these, even over the shity Jaakari Puukko 110, which usually comes with the worst heat treatment and worst grinds I've ever seen on any knife.
About time! I’ve been begging you to cover BPS knives forever lol. I have all of them. Can’t beat the quality for the price. Hand made, leather sheathe, and I’ve never had sharper knives. The HK5 is another favorite.
Thanks for the fun presentation of BPS knives. Interesting knives that fall into the category - an inexpensive budget knife for hiking and bushcraft. For war, the knives of the Ukrainian company "Біла Зброя" (Bila Zbroya) are much more suitable. This is where tactical knives come in.
I just bought one and I thought the sharpening choil was a bit large, but then I noticed some slight serrations that are inconsistent with the rest of the relatively rough finish on the rest of the edges, but then I realised that the choil has the same diameter as the ferro rod. I may be wrong, but I think the choil is designed for use with the ferro rod. It gives better control when using the ferro rod (it stays in the choil) and the rough finish/serrations (hard to determine if they’re deliberate or not), are more reliable in producing sparks than the spine of the knife. Though I’m not sure if the ferro rod sparks are hot enough to damage the temper on the edge of the blade next to the choil 🤷🏻♂️ Interested to hear if other people who own one, have the same serrations in the choil and what they think about whether it was intended for use with the ferro rod.

Awesome knife!!! That thing is a beast for $40. Funny that you batoned the wood that way. About 2 years ago I broke my dominate hand and did a weak hand only fire video and done it that same way. Keep up the good work
The f act that the handle split on the back side would suggest it was probably cracked while pounding it in the wood . I do have 2 of the BPS knives but not the adventurer they have been a great value . the only thing I've done is replaced the the upper rivet with a snap so there is zero problems driving or sitting .I Do that with almost all medium to small side carries. Keep up the great tuff reviews guys we are happy for your success. Happy trails
I bought my 2 sons and son in law bps1 for Christmas last year and they have used and abused the things and all 3 carry them as their edc. I also bought 3 more bps knives, the adventurer and the 2 others i can't remember the models but all 7 were only like $120. Amazingly sharp out of the box 📦. What a deal IMHO. I want to buy more soon b4 the war ends their business or they become banned from import or something similar happens. Love these knives. Great review guys, keep up the great work 👍🏻 👏 💪 👌 😀

Can you do a video on the Cold Steel Leatherneck clip point? It's basically a full tang Ka-bar USMC. I just want to see if Lynn Thompson is right when he said he did it better.
Today’s video reminded me of a camping trip I had to Zandvoort in August 1978. The Grand Prix was on, but we could only hear it, not see it! Great trip though.
I have avoided BPS knives because of the 1066 steel but I didn’t realize they were made in Ukraine and being used by their brave soldiers. Based on yours and Survival On Purpose reviews I decided to order one. If nothing else I am helping support the Ukraine economy and getting a pretty nice knife as well.
First off: don’t avoid carbon steel. Best edges and best “blade feel” as a cutting device to be had, period. Second off: these knives are the best steel for the money available. They’re probably the best knives for double the money, for that matter.
The billions and billions we've sent to Ukraine would help the people if it wasn't put in the private accounts of politicians and the POS president of Ukraine.
I had serious anxiety when Micky was feather sticking between his legs! The tip of that blade was like half an inch away from his femoral artery !!! Great vid, good to see BPS get some limelight but jeez guys !!
I’m a novice knife guy who just torture tested an HK5. I tested it on seasoned oak and caused the tip to fail but expected it! I was impressed by the HK5 even though deep stabs, and twists into seasoned oak took out the tip! I just ordered the Adventurer. I look forward to getting it!
I will buy this knife today to support Ukraine. I hope that many do, so that it helps the Ukrainian troops get their knives. It's really not much, but I can't do much more. I have been praying for Ukraine and it's civilians since the start and now I am praying for the Russians who are being forced to join the military. I pray that Putin will some how stop the madness. Miracles do happen. The DBK knife is proof. ✌️🦁
It is because it is not 1066 actually. It is 65Г (65G) soviet era spring steel. Outperforms 1095 in any aspect except of initial hardnes. And it won't brake, it would rather bend.
Would you guys consider to make a comparison video about military used knives? Like the austrian Glock, the german Eickhorn 2000 BW etc... I think it would be interesting
I advise anyone to look them up. The BK line is my personal favourite by bps. Pretty classy stick tang scandi knives, small and large. They've got quite a few models.

I have a couple, they have nice fit and finish especially for the price. The sheaths are nice too
Linen micarta handles would be my choice for rough use. Drill ,file and sandpaper. Very straightforward task. I would put a layer of rubberized fiber ,between the handle material and tang, to reduce transmitted vibrations. I’m not throwing or beating on mine, so I’m enjoying the luxury of fine walnut.
Thanks for discovery. I live in Ukraine and didn't know about this knives
Congrats guys, Two sponsors for the same video, now that's a real achievement! Wish you the best, you're wesome!
You act like these 2 bonesheads buying a knife is somehow going to affect the Geopolitics of Eastern Europe. Bruh.....
I’m ahead of you guys this time.
Great knives. Great price.
Just got mine absolutely love it
I bought a bps knife several years ago, honestly the knife itself is fantastic but they definitely hand picked your sheathes or changed something up because mine came all types of warped.
Quality which is damn near impossible nowadays
are stainless bad for hunting?
@@Glockler stainless is ok for hunting use. Might keep a fine grit stone handy for a quick edge touch up. Especially if you drag the edge on a bone. It won’t keep a razor sharp edge like a good high carbon steel blade does. Search online there are some good carbon steel hunting style that aren’t that expensive.
I currently owned three of these knives and they are the best nights I've ever had
I have a bushcraft and camp BPS that I've had for a few years and used them this week for 4 days in the bush
We've recently added new options of delivery. If you need to receive knife faster you can add it to coment/write to direct messages and we can discuss all options😊
i have one of these BPS knives. they are very solid. I use mine for bushcrafting. I have been very impressed with them
We demand 2 videos per week!
for the children
I have that bps knife for 2 years and it’s been solid so far off and on carry but it’s a sweet blade
I own 2 BPS knives for almost 2 years and really like them. For he price range hey are the best your money can buy.

Доброго вечора! Ми з України.....
Our souls with you ❤️. Thanks for this video!🙏
слава BPS
About time! I’ve been begging you to cover BPS knives forever lol. I have all of them. Can’t beat the quality for the price. Hand made, leather sheathe, and I’ve never had sharper knives. The HK5 is another favorite.
Lol I left a messages on the BPS TH-cam channel for them to reach out to DBK maybe they listen to me finely.
Though I’m not sure if the ferro rod sparks are hot enough to damage the temper on the edge of the blade next to the choil 🤷🏻♂️
Interested to hear if other people who own one, have the same serrations in the choil and what they think about whether it was intended for use with the ferro rod.
Many thanks for your objective and kind review of Ukrainian BPS Knives! Very much appreciated!!
As we say in the US military, “the only good mockal schweinhund is a dead mockal schweinhund!!”. WE guarantee it.

Agree 100%, but you shouldn't call those ruzian orks "mockal" - they are kacaps!
These are good knives with excellent quality. The sheathed are good too and they even make a sharpening kit.
Dang you guys crack me up, I love the way you guys do these reviews and make people laugh doing them. Absolutely Outstanding my Dutch Brothers!
BPS also sells blanks if you want to make your own handle and edge
Another great review thanks. Good to see that there are some budget knives out there that are still top notch.
Thank you for the cool review from Ukraine.💙💛
Awesome knife!!! That thing is a beast for $40. Funny that you batoned the wood that way. About 2 years ago I broke my dominate hand and did a weak hand only fire video and done it that same way. Keep up the good work
I've had a BPS adventurer for a year or more it is the best knife I have ever owned.
I have one and it's a good knife. glad you liked it.
Thanks guys! I just ordered one
I've had BPS knives on my Amazon wish list for ages.
Great review guys, keep up the great work 👍🏻 👏 💪 👌 😀
Just ordered both from Amazon! 25 percent off!free shipping! Thanks DBK!
Yay!👍
God bless you friends. I am saddened to hear of your loss. My sincere condolences.
When I think Mickie can't surprise me he uhm, sure "feathersticks" in what are hoochie momma shorts. You guys are funny and really good at pushing a knife and showing it works.
Very dangerous if you slip and cut the femoral artery you die in 3 minutes, never copy this.
Can you do a video on the Cold Steel Leatherneck clip point? It's basically a full tang Ka-bar USMC. I just want to see if Lynn Thompson is right when he said he did it better.
Prototype was far better than Ka bar. Production models, not so much.
I own this knife, I bought it a while back before the Cov hit. Never got to use it. Maybe one day.
Today’s video reminded me of a camping trip I had to Zandvoort in August 1978. The Grand Prix was on, but we could only hear it, not see it! Great trip though.
I have one been using it a couple years and they are good for the money
I got one from Etsy a few years ago and it is good knife, regardless of price.
7:50 classic example why I despise sharpening choils.
Thankfully recieved #1228 & 1245. Love you guys. Who wrote "vielen Dank ..."?
I have avoided BPS knives because of the 1066 steel but I didn’t realize they were made in Ukraine and being used by their brave soldiers. Based on yours and Survival On Purpose reviews I decided to order one. If nothing else I am helping support the Ukraine economy and getting a pretty nice knife as well.
It is actually the 65Г (65G) soviet era spring steel, which outperforms the 1095 if treated properly.
So you have been avoiding carbon steel blades?
I have already 6 BPS knives
First off: don’t avoid carbon steel. Best edges and best “blade feel” as a cutting device to be had, period. Second off: these knives are the best steel for the money available. They’re probably the best knives for double the money, for that matter.
The billions and billions we've sent to Ukraine would help the people if it wasn't put in the private accounts of politicians and the POS president of Ukraine.
BPS should sell them at Walmart!
You guys are amazing, funny and educational.
Absolutely amazing knife for the price!
You guys crack me up 🤣😂🤣👍, peace from South ✌🇿🇦
Just placed an order for one, can’t wait for it to arrive
I had serious anxiety when Micky was feather sticking between his legs! The tip of that blade was like half an inch away from his femoral artery !!!
Great vid, good to see BPS get some limelight but jeez guys !!
I’m a novice knife guy who just torture tested an HK5.
I tested it on seasoned oak and caused the tip to fail but expected it!
I was impressed by the HK5 even though deep stabs, and twists into seasoned oak took out the tip!
I just ordered the Adventurer.
I look forward to getting it!
That skull art is pretty cool.
Just went on Amazon looking for these knives, when I saw this video on Amazon as advertisement for the BPS Adventure
✌️🦁
BPS 1066 is no joke, way better than most of my 1095 it just holds an edge longer👍.
I know on paper it shouldn't but it does.
I have a few of these like many people, great value for money.
Just found the channel and was laughing the entire way. Good job guys and I'm purchasing a knife this payday lol.
The Brain works!!!
Who would have thought it possible?
Thank you for your video. Take care. Juan
I advise anyone to look them up.
The BK line is my personal favourite by bps.
Pretty classy stick tang scandi knives, small and large.
They've got quite a few models.
Rat tail tangs yeah their knives with those tangs are pretty durrable but i prefer full tang.
Cool to see a nice budget option! Great video as usual you silly boys
