- I edited together the three sources I could find on youtube and I think I managed to get all the questions and answers of the original one (sorry for the sudden changes in quality). I also edited out the non-interview parts.
Probably my favourite interview
Enjoy! - เพลง
Tom is clearly overwhelmed by beauty.
Yeah,clearly he's abit hypnotise by her beauty❤.
Him and me both
I would be too. 😂

First time I see such a chemistry between Tom Waits and an interviewer. This felt much more candid than any other interview of his I've seen. The difference in his body movements and body language in this one is striking --this time he looks really relaxed and enjoying the process. Kudos to the interviewer for managing this. And thank you heaps for sharing this gem --much appreciated.
She's very attractive with that seductive French accent thrown in. Any guy would give her his full attention. Tom is human despite being the most original singer-songwriter of them all.
@@bobbyhanly3466 French? She's Brazilian and so is her accent.
@@jaquelinemarques1736 actually, her accent is very continental 'European', maybe more south and Eastern European, to be specific. My life partner is Romanian. And while I can hear the subtle differences, broadly speaking, there is a lot of overlap.
@@KerouacsAccomplice, Her name is Bruna Lombardi . She is Brazilian.
its the sexual frustration you are feeling.. the flirting
" You're not going to remember everything about the dream, sometimes you just wake up with some feathers in your hair"... what a great way with words and concepts, he truly puts pictures in your head. A real one off and I've loved his music ever since I heard 'Hang on St. Christopher ' on a magazine giveaway cassette for Island Records artists. There is at least one memorable line in every song. My favourite being;
" I got a head full of lightning
A hat full of rain ". Never seen him be so ( relatively) straightforward and literal in an interview.
A wonderful interview. Very open, raw and real.
This is one of the most relaxed interviews I've seen with Tom. The interviewer did a really great job getting some interesting answers out of him.
yeah some of the questions were a bit too invasive but her ..... i guess innocence and playful nonjudgement makes you not want to call her out but her questions are sincere and more anecdotal which was perfect for Tom. I could tell he would stop thinking what did she just ask me but realize shes such a sweetheart and genuine that it would be almost rude to snap on her.
also its just chemistry. she could riff on dark fantastical humor. Im the same an alot of times people will not really get my humor and treat it almost like an inside joke. Shes on point and you could strike up any conversation with her. and her being a little flirty always helps.
Great interviewer. She knows a thing or two about life, and she understood Tom a little too well. Nothing but homeruns.
There is definitely chemistry between Waits and the interviewer. Waits doesn't do a lot of interviews, I can imagine the difficulty interviewing him, because he so complex and deep, to peel off the layers slowly works well.
Great interview, interviewer. She gives time. Patient. Not put words in his mouth.
She’s great. He’s great. Thanks for posting this.
I admire this interview, too naked and too right questions and answers we can hear here.
Tom Waits got 74 years old yesterday (07.12.) and I'm glad that this interviewer let us to see Waits from the other side.
Probably from the same side but more deep.
We will loose this generation of the musicians soon and without them The Earth 'll die screaming.
what twaddle. you big baby.
Thanks for sharing this is a great interview. Tom Waits poet, musician and real person like the rest of us.
Thanks for sharing this!
Thank you for sharing this interview. I remember seeing this interview years ago but it was very bad quality. I love Tom, he has had a great impact on my imagination and my life as a whole. I'm sure I'm not alone.
This is fantastic, that's for putting this together
Great job thanks a lot! I hope he did more interviews.
Thanks for the re-upload! I saw this a while ago and couldn't find it for months!
If this cute lady was interviewing me I would probably also be patient, generous and kind, but Tom Waits' willingness to contemplate his answers and give the people what they want is extraordinary.
She’s beautiful, no doubt. Similar to his wife.
I thought exactly this. I’ve never seen him take another interview seriously.
@@HalfwayJac I agree. This is a real revelation (for me after 30 years of seeing and reading interviews). Even Elizabeth Gilbert's interview wasn't this revealing and it was really good.
It seems like he's guarded at first but willing to navigate the slight language barrier. Then he realizes she's delving into things that genuinely interest him.
Or, like me, it just could be her eyes.
This is very sweet in places. Thanks for the upload.
Amazing interview
NOOSSA!! Muito agradecido!, nunca imaginei que fosse assistir uma entrevista do amado Tom Waits ao Brasil, em português! Grato ao canal ❤🙏
What a great surprise! Tom is one of my favourite musicians, so it was a pleasure to ear this interview. But the greatness of it is due to the interviewer, Bruna Lombardi, as she had the intelligence and sensibility to reach out to him. An interview is always a product of the interaction of both parts, and this one just came out beautifully.
Thanks.
Não sabia que a Bruna tinha entrevistado o grande Tom Waits. Surpresa bem agradável.
I’ve seen quite a few interviews with Tom, but I feel this is more Tom and less a character
i think she's amaizng interviewer. she understands so much. almost like she was his soulmate😁
This is *by far* the best interview of
Tom waits l've ever seen. This
woman really did a Great job. He
is quite a character. I now can see
why he wrote the unusual music
he did.
Some people are so unique and intelligent
I love him 💖💖💖
Ótima entrevista...
Haha,
It’s like a first date , and she was more than you expected, something like that 😅
I had never seen this interview before!! So nice to see him talking openly with some shy smile. I can tell that she really opened his heart!!
ela é talentosa demais, levava o trabalho com a seriedade que precisa: respeita quem ta ali e faz uma pesquisa sobre. to maratonando todos
He is struggling so hard not to flirt with her. Mostly succeeding, but this is the shyest I've ever seen Tom.
I've seen him just as awkward with some male interviews , so I wouldn't call it shy , just a bit distracted
Bruna Lombardi did a great job with this interview!
Tom waits is a very smart man, some would consider a genius. If a genius could stack notes into a beautiful building with his voice, that's Tom
This beautiful man came out of the womb, grumbling.
so difficult to listen to the interviewer sometimes... but it's a great find indeed, thank you!
He was incredibly tolerant and generous with this inane “gotcha” questions.
Deep interview!
Interesting awkward interview..very funny ...I loved his responses to her questions 😃
Merci ben gros. :o)
beauty is not everything but it helps
and hes only 3 years older than her. Makes her even more relatable for him i bet.
Tom Waits should write a book... Him, Werner Herzog, and Martha Argerich are scarily old and, of too much creative eminence to ever leave this world.
Also she has a common look, but Bruna Lombardi is so beautiful- (what is her writing like? To who has read something..) have not begun the interview to actually speak on the quality of it, but~~~
3 times married. Gawd Bless
Bruna lombardi, an brazillian actress
Great insights into his working practice. The expedition to unknown lands is great. Maybe the interviewer is unfamiliar with the creative process, like she knows about viewing art but not doing art. I am convinced he uses his stage persona to filter out listeners who just comment on his gravely voice, like he is a whiskey drinker, or his stage presentation is 'like the joker in batman' or his lyrical pastiche of pulp fiction and comic books. It is the opposite of pop music which seeks to as easy as possible for as many people as possible, which can be glorious, but is a different journey. Some people want well worn paths not unknown lands. I'd follow him anywhere he goes.
'for people who are depressed thoughts of sui^&de are like erotic thoughts' honestly so true
never heard tom get asked questions like these
His face when she said "you've been married 3 times" is everything!
Also, the final handshake is sooo long ! Let go of his hand for Christ sake! 😄
22:21
5:42 is so... You know
This video is like a conversation with myself on acid.
5:56 At that point, Tom knew, he could get a taste if he played his cards right.
What's her name?
She did a great job!
He seems shy around her with his shifty eye contact
Tom 'Waits' for her next question with a schoolboy crush/shyness.
Tom never to
The sexual tension is palpable
not at all
@@navmanshack1579 Oh no, not at all. Not at all, Sir. There's not a glimmer of such an idea in people's minds at large. It's a feeling. You either felt it, or you ain't.
Tom waits should make a song with Lil Wayne
Why use these people have to have music explained to them? If they would just listen to it then they wouldn't have to explain it! Or have explained to them. But I suppose journalist need something to do! I just seen Tom Waits is too patient with these people you should just tell them to figure it out for themselves!
First time he's look like not on drugs haha
I think mostly he’s pulling her leg…..or would love to….. he’s just playing with her and thinking how long he can keep this up….. he’s trying to be nice but he’s also thinking what a dufuss😂
Please tell me they were having lots of sex before and after this interview 🙏
She is very distracting. 😂
This is much painful too watch. I'm sorry, but two minutes is about all I could take, and it looks like it was pretty much the same for him. It's clearly apparent that he's cringing with every freighted question. He definitely doesn't do 'earnest.' He's a jester in the dark.
Thought the same too but once you get past Three mins the rest flows seemlessly as the chat fees like barstool chat that flies by.
Brendan Hughes. you gave up too early.
@@barflytom3273 Okay, I’ll give it another go. Thanks.
@@brenhugh good idea, her English is limited but she manages to engage him.
It would be great to see a poet disown it - not practice poetry at call. She's not that beautiful. Beauty is from inside, not out.
Interviewer is kinda creepy
Great find...terrible interviewer
Indeed
How so? This blows those commercial, late night show hosts out of the water - the type that were condescending to Tom’s art. This is way more natural & Tom seems quite open in my opinion
I respectfully disagree
Forgive me, i didnt mean to offend the interviewer - she truely seems a lovely person, and her questions are better than most main stream outlets, i agree....though i still thought the questions poor chess. He is a Poetic soul, no? Dont try storming the gates on a unique artist or you wont get anywhere. How about a poetic line of questioning instead of a strobe light? How about doing this again? He is an important, most misunderstood voice. Oh...the irony...
The Earth died screaming
While i lay dreaming
Dreaming of you...
@@stephanieramirez4770 that’s fair enough, it could have been more. That’s a glass half empty perspective in my opinion. How many are there really capable of being on that level with Tom? The language barrier also was always going to constrict her thoughts and speech, who’s to say in her mother tongue she was not feeling that way?
In a world such as ours with the way that it is, I honestly think this is on the better side of Tom’s public show appearances. We all have our opinions, and I respect yours nonetheless. I am just so happy that I can share this amazing music with other great minds such as yourselves.
I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy, Christ I just can’t drink no more, I ain’t got a drinkin problem except when I can’t get a drink ✌️
