Mark, I really needed this. I walk into situations knowing that I am not prepared. I think it is laziness on my part. Tomorrow I will do better and continue to ask myself if I am doing better each day.
The biggest challenge for me is late night binges. I'll eat healthy (meats/eggs/shakes) throughout the day, but right before bed it's so easy to break (binge on candy, ice cream, etc). Maybe an episode on how to combat late night binge eating would be valuable. My buddy who's a pro fighter says, "just eat a healthy meal instead" but for whatever reason, it doesn't seem as easy late at night vs throughout the day. If it helps my routine is generally: - 20 hour fast - fasted workout after work (35 to 65 mins high intensity on stairclimber + 40 to 65 mins of high rep resistance training w/ supersets until failure) - break fast with post workout Shake (protein + 1/2 handful berries & nuts); next meal is 4 to 6 Eggs (mostly whites); next meal is a lean protein (Chicken, Turkey, or Steak). Normally I'm satiated after eating, but right before sleep, about 2 hours after eating, that's when I'll get bad cravings.
thanks Mark, yea I get a lil upset at myself when my diet isn't right, even one meal but just like you said im one meal away from getting back on track
Any advice for someone with the opposite issue? Eating enough to grow is very, very difficult. I've forced myself to eat enough to be around 200lbs. at 5'7", but it's a real struggle and many days I feel like I'm about to reach a vomit point. Even shakes are hard to get down when the calories are high, almost like my body knows how many kcals have been consumed and signals me to stop.
@Arnold Akbar I hear that a lot because most folks have a harder time with eating too much. It seems I do have a higher tolerance for some junk food - 1,000 kcals at McD's goes down ok post-workout. I've been slathering peanut butter on toast in the AM and am all for the most dense foods as it helps get kcals with less volume. If I snack throughout the day, the meals feel like 10x harder to eat. One strategy to get the food down has been to eat as quickly as I can so the food gets in there before my brain says, "No Mas!"
Dont over eat at single meals and keep putting food down every 2 1/2hrs like clock work. Plan your meals so you know your daily calorie count. If your really have a hard time ad a cheat meal a day. You can try taking something that ups your hunger some too like MK-677. Good luck, they dont you guys hard gainers cause it's easy.
I've done keto and fasting. I'm still a type 2 diabetic fat and sugar addictive. I still crave after 8 years keto and I do crash and burn out on sugar.
When people who are on roids eh all you have to is cut back a little on food. But if you are drug free a thermogetic diet would help, so what that means eat more fish take complex vitamin b and use iodine and chromium gtf and eat raw onions for natural test. When many of these guys lose there test their world falls apart, and with all this keep on trucking stuff they push but it is a good thing but coming from the wrong people. It's like this if you are a drug addict would you get advise from a person who was never a drug addict?
@Becoming Godsize Not arguing over cutting calories but making the body more efficient to burn calories just while sleeping or sitting on oneS but pad. How many times have you and I cut calories or go on a fast but to gorge ourselves later on?Control our blood sugar is the key to a lose of weight and have the right minerals will help. And yes I have tried the Roid thing and it does help get bigger muscles and to cut body fat also to me with roids I made incredible jumps but you feel and get really high blood pressure and that is not a good thing long term.
It's sad how weak minded people are. I mean, there's so much to do in life and so many battles and people can't even conquer something as small as saying I won't eat that
Weak minded is a mis-understanding. Cravings are a hormonal imbalance, the most powerful chemicals in the body. It took me 3 months on Keto, following strictly to re-balance. It was torture but came through it.
+ the more you are deficient in micronutrients the more cravings you have.. Junk food has low micronutrient profile which means perfect vicious cycle..
Don't ever get in serious relationship. Just one night stands with food.

Almost 2 years keto, 160 pounds lost. My relationship with food has improved significantly since I've made the change.
Very Nice, Keep it up
You always speak the truth Mark!
I'd advise looking at Intermittent Fasting and Keto whatever your goals are. Just look on the Tube about the health benefits.

Diet is SO different based on your goals.

Maintaining muscle eating chicken breast, rice and veggies is made possible with a cocktail of "supplements".
