And 2. Do you think producers keep Abigail on the show for longer than Matt wanted because they are trying to get the world to fall in love with her and her to be the first disabled bachelorette?
I think I kinda get what Matt means, maybe he just worded it poorly and didn't get exactly to his point. I feel like if I were in his shoes, The Beginning™️ would be a very "Stay-Or-Go" mindset rather than trying to rank them all 1-32 or 1-25, whatever. For so long, he didn't even think about where she lies on that scale because "She's Abigail, of course she's staying!" Then before he knew it, it was 4 women he's falling in love with...and Of-Course-Abigail. Once it came down to a point where he had to start trying to put them in some kind of hierarchy or ranking, he realized he hadn't actually built anything with her and was just assuming she would still be relatively in the same place in his rankings. Does that make any more sense than what he said? Lol

Honestly, Matt is not ready to settle down and actually marry someone. He never learned more about his contestants' lives or shared about his own ideals, values or expectations. The most he says is giving a out a compliment "you're kind and that's a quality I am looking for my wife" wtf?
Couldn't agree more. If he's looking for a life partner, there is more to that than being "kind".
Every time he kisses anyone it looks like someone behind the scene said “okay now kiss” it’s so awkwardly planned out and weird. I don’t see real chemistry with him and anyone there,.. it’s so weird

This episode sucked. The Heather harassment was actually uncomfortable to watch, the way he sent off Abigail sucked, and the date with Serena was really weird as she was very clearly uncomfortable
Think it may have made a big difference, if Matt had only been on a Bachelorette show first . . .
I personally quit watching this season when the new girls came in. This cast is the worst I've ever seen. I don't doubt there are some gems amoung them, but Production hasn't spotlighted them. One of the worst seasons ever.

Kit made a power move . She realized when Rachel got the group date rose, she wasnt going to win. She wasnt going to suffer the humiliation. Matt looked excited and relieved now he still get invited to the galas.

He ended up leading a majority of them on, he's kissed them all, week after week he butters them up saying the same things over and over to each girl. where is the love? I'm honestly tired of seeing him just toy with majority of these girls feelings.

This season might be worse than peters, especially with the ending.
1. Matt was never ready for a relationship, yet alone a proposal. He wont propose at the end
2. Casting was not paid attention to. So we had bullies, immature women or those who were not ready for a relationship and just wanted to be verified on IG.
3. The abrupt choice of choosing a black bachelor who doesn't even want to settle down for the sake of diversity and inclusion that came out just to be blatant performative activism
I disagree with 2. I think casting was paid a lot of attention to. My suspicions is this season vs Tayshia's season were guinea pigs, one heavy on the romance, one heavy on the drama. I also would not be surprised if they clocked Rachael's past from the start and brought her in on purpose.
This season would've been great if only they'd picked Mike, he would've been able to navigate the bullshit and he's a charismatic person
@@pinkopat Agreed. I wanted Mike from the started because Bachelor Nation actually knows him, his story and also we can see how genuine he is. I personally believe if he was the Bachelor we would have had a proposal and happy ending. Less Drama

I agree, at first, I wanted to blame it on the drama in the beginning but I'm starting to think they HAD to shove it at us cause Matt's relationships with these "little girls" are like Mayo sandwiches; like aside from maybe Michelle......there's nothing there.

Yes I’ll pick Jessenia over MJ. But I had questions about Jessenias character last week. I hate to say this now but I feel I was right. You cannot mask yourself as someone who stands up for bullying one week then participate in taking shots at a new contestant the following week.

Am I the only one confused as to why he kept Abigail after the rose ceremony even if he wasn't going to go on a date with her? The second he did get to talk to her, he was aware of his lack of emotional connection with her so why keep her? I understand that he could only send a certain amount home, but it feels kind of low-down to me.

The middle of the episode rose ceremonies are exaggerating how quickly the show transpires. This has happened before but with the rose ceremony at the end of an episode and the date card at the beginning of the next it seems like more time has passed

In my opinion Matt’s feelings for Abigail began to fade away over time but since she got the first impression rose he wanted to make it work but didn’t really put in the effort which no doubt definitely hurt Abigail. If he wanted to make it work he wouldn’t have given the one on one to Serena, and instead would have given it to Abigail
Honestly I think that’s ok only. If you’re sure you’re not interested in someone, why would you give them a 1-1 spend all day with them and get them more attached. I think it would be more hurtful to see Abigail after that.
@@taytayqueen7024 I feel it hurts more not even given an opportunity. Abigail did even really get to explore any of their night one connection all season long. Abigail had to watch other girls have fun, while she sat there on the sidelines. I think it would be more hurtful to watch happen all season till the final 5 just to be sent packing at a group date personally...
Totally agree 100%. I really think Matt botched the Abigail/serena situation. Serena p didn't need a 1x1 the week before hometowns. Serena isn't going beyond hometowns, so I guess I don't understand why she got her 2nd 1x1, when Abigail never got a 1x1. Just seemed like a wasted date. Abigail got the 1st impression but obviously his feelings for her didn't grow and his other relationships did grow. At the end of the day I don't think it really matters because Rachel is the winner anyways and there's nothing serena or Abigail could do at this point to derail the Rachael train. Cause that's what it is: a train.
I agree. He was into Michelle and gave her a 1 on 1 date right away. He wasn't consistent with what he said. Waiting until the very end, telling her he had stronger feelings for others, and still never giving her one was a huge slap in the face.
I have to wonder if her disability and the fact that their kids could have the same hearing problem was something that scared Matt away, but for Matt to admit such a thing would not be cool, but neither was the lame “excuse” he ultimately gave her at the end.
A feel the line "all while production sat there laughing maniacally" perfectly sums up this season so far.

I felt really bad for Serena. We don't know what kind of trauma she does/doesn't have regarding sexual encounters or experience. These kinds of dates that force people (both the men and women) into these situations without consent are really getting on my nerves as a victim of sexual assault myself. If I was forced to do that tantric yoga shit for a date with some guy I've only known a couple of weeks my trauma would probably have me acting the same way Serena did. She didn't kiss him because she was already uncomfortable in the situation, not because the "date wasn't going well"

I had the same thoughts. I’ve never been assaulted but I would feel uncomfortable doing that sort of thing with someone I barely know. Especially in front of other people.

I think Kit tried to “self sabotage” a little when she was telling him about her plans and that she wouldn’t give him what the other women could right away. And when he responded well she was like cool, maybe I’ll get the group date rose. But when she didn’t she knew she’d probably get eliminated at the rose ceremony and so dipped out on her own terms. She didn’t want marriage or anything serious, just wanted even more Instagram fame. Props to her, it worked.
It’s castings fault for even casting a 21 year old who was so obviously interested in insta fame.

If that whole situation hadn't happened, there is no doubt in my mind Ben from Taiysha's season or Tyler Cameron whould've been the lead for this season. Matt was picked cause ABC panicked.
Honestly, the most compelling thing this season has been Abigail. I was emotionally invested in her every time she was on screen, which was no where near enough. I don’t usually feel very strongly for anyone on the show-I hope they get a happy ending but it’s rare that the show bring up real emotions for me. But hearing what Abigail said in the limo, it broke my heart. I didn’t even want her to end up with Matt because he honestly didn’t deserve her, but her vulnerability made it physically hard to breathe. Because most of the time, the limo exit feels like the contestant feeling devastated over missing their happy ending...but with Abigail, I felt like I was experiencing her pain as she was grieving the loss of what could have been.

At first I thought he had to end up with Michelle because she is so good. Now I'm hoping he doesn't end up with her because she's too good. To be honest all these women: Michelle, Serena, Bri, Piper, Abigail or maybe even Kit for that matter are too good for him. Can't wait for the shitshow after we find out he picked Rachel.

I feel like these dates have been degrading to the women (boxing, dressed as squirrels, fighting in wedding gowns, tantric yoga) and not romantic, just frat boy Matt dates (Race cars, ATV, Tantric yoga, zip lining, prank on his true love, Tyler). He’s not going to propose. He’s not interested in marriage. The shopping date was weird too. Like how do you connect with that? Rachel models and keeps the clothes and he sits there and looks at her body in different outfits. It’s just so obvious this is not about finding love.

This has been such a frustrating season! They have a bachelor who has never experienced the franchise, and they throw a BUNCH of women at him introducing a handful more a few weeks in! What is that?! And it ends up in a slaughterhouse episode like this the week before hometowns. I'm not even going to touch on all the bullying - they clearly learned nothing about bullying being a bad choice from MJ & Victoria. That was hard to watch.

I’m assuming since she was a big-name they were hoping he would keep her for hometowns so we could maybe meet her big-name family. Serena P is too good for Matt. In fact all the WOC are. Serena P is emotionally mature. I'm glad she told him she was uncomfortable on that date. She doesn't tell him what he likes to hear, whereas Rachael does. He's lustful with a lot of these women and wants them to tell them what he wants to hear. Did anyone see that cut to Rachael and Matt's conversation on the group date and she talks about her family and how they would react to meeting him? It all makes sense now.

This season is so disappointing, the first black bachelor falling for an alleged racist/former racist is not the character development arc or love story that anyone asked for. Ultimately it is Matt’s choice, but it was in poor taste for Rachael to have been cast in the first place.
@Tatt Bass true, but we do know what is being displayed to literally the whole world, and the huge amount of power that the franchise has to validate ignorance. This season is bigger than Matt’s love story, casting, producers, and Chris Harrison decided that a historic season for the show is the best time and place to say that the person getting warranted criticism for their hurtful actions is actually the victim and deserves that redemption. You’re right, we don’t know what goes on behind the scenes but you can deduce that the producers either A: did not properly vet Rachael, or B: we’re fully aware of her past and saw an opportunity for her to possibly be racist and problematic in order to create drama or “good tv” Both of these options are issues for reasons I hope I don’t have to explain.
Strange for a racist to declare her love for a black dude and introduce him to her parents. On national TV. Or maybe she was just a chick wearing a prom dress who didn't think much about it at the time.

As much as Matt kinda pissed me off in this episode, according to Sean Lowe, it's always the producers who get to decide who goes on dates. So even if Matt wanted to build a relationship with Abigail or Jessenia, it's the producers who plan everything out. With all that being said, it's amazing anybody finds love on this show because it's kinda just a crapshoot that you'll have a connection with whoever producers decide to send you on a date with.
Former bachelors said that if they actually put their foot down and asked for it, it would work. When it comes to relationships, producers strongly suggest, bu they wouldn't force it without bachelor's knowledge
Other leads have said that they always choose who goes on 1:1s. Abigail would have been a great choice, from a producer's stand-point, for a 1:1 since she is well-liked and has a great story. If producers were choosing dates, then they def would have chosen Abigail.
