- On this day of our Scarlet Lady Dominican Daze cruise we enjoyed Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. Our day didn’t go at all as planned, but we made the best of it and had a great time. In the evening we saw Duel Reality, an impressive show and demonstration of talent on Virgin Voyages, and Larissa drank crickets. Nope, not a typo.

They tried charging me $60 as well ended up paying the same. Should have been around $10 in DR but I’m sure since tourists pay the $60 it’s where they start
Yep. Walking out the gates we could get a cab for less, but the convinience of not having to flag down a car (they're not we'll marked, and many taxis there are motorcycles), and knowing the one in the port was a new and clean vehicle with a driver that would wait for us definitely had value. I think the frustrating part may be how much the process is locked out from competition.
How cool is that to-go bag?!
Ship Eats is so well done in every way.
We're headed there on the Scarlet Lady in November, week of US Thanksgiving. Good to know about the Teleferico and the cab fare!

Hi Billy, when we went on our November 2021 Celebrity Millennium cruise to Eastern Caribbean, our first stop was to have been Puerto Plata. Before the cruise the itinerary was changed so we ended up in Nassau Bahamas. Thanks for this video as now we were able to see what we missed. Hi from Bob and Jill in Connecticut

@@CruiseHabit Yes, we did. As I constantly check prices and cabin availability, a week before final payment a Family Oceanview Veranda on Deck 8 opened up so I had our TA get it for us. Aft on the starboard side. Two rooms totalling 290 sq ft. And our corner deck was 15 x 20. Just for the two if us. Loved Millie. We're back on the Summit one month from tomorrow Aqua class Deck 11.

Do all of the shows start at a specific time?
It can vary a bit. I've noticed some commonalities, but can't say exactly. There have been some performances in the late afternoon and others in the evening (9pm or so, IIRC).
