Hey, I've actually got this offer for PhD physics at ANU, and this video is really helpful, Thank you very much 😍 And yes, you pronounced my name super correct! 👍😊
@@sonaligarg7912 Hi Sonali. If you don't know which research group you want to join already, start there! Look at departments' websites. Research your potential advisors!
@@NutsineesVlogBook thank-you for your kind reply, I've shortlisted some universities according to my research topic, but my grades are average, I'm not sure if I have a chance or not !!
Hey I want to apply for a PhD in ANU as well. I am currently doing my MS research in Quantum Optics specifically in photon addition and subtraction. Don't know where to start from
Thank you for this video! I am Ghanaian, and got my bachelor's in B Tech Automation and Robotics, from India. For some reasons, I'm currently pursuing MBA Finance & HR at the moment, and I want to do a joint PhD in Theoretical Physics and Cognitive Neuroscience. I want to do know of the scholarship opportunities for international students, and any other useful information. Kindly let me know of how I can get to have my PhD there.
I started wondering is there any pure physics lab in japan 🤔. i'm totally agree about avoiding language barrier on PhD, I have some friends who suffered language barrier (or maybe culture as well), even their lab and prof. mainly in English, but the life outside college is not easy, so if you suffer on lab things already then language can make it double orz.
If you’re good with languages, you can graduate with an extra language in your pocket! Yes there are physics labs in Japan. They have a neutrino detector and a gravitational wave detector. Can’t beat that!
There are some documentaries that call Australian universities as cash cow for international students. The same thing apply to UK universities with exception to Oxbridge.
For those who r applying to undergrad, they can’t have a strong letter of recommendation like you, what they should do instead? I don’t think school teachers’ letters work?
@@rakshith4751 If you have a relevant job experience, it's possible to skip masters. In Australia it's totally up to your potential advisor, at least I think that's how it worked out in my case.
RTB MUB For domestic admissions in aus the ATAR is used to determine if you can enter a course. Scholarships are not usually awarded purely on grades in Australia other than exceptional academic performances such as 99+ ATAR. If you look on the University websites you can look what’s available to you. If you are applying for an aus University internationally there will be different systems such as IB, there is info on most uni websites about this.
RTB MUB I guess there will be a conversation from your American whatever to an IB score somehow. ATAR is only for Aus domestic students who complete the SACE, VCE etc... and is more or less a percentile rank against your peers (99 means better than 99% - kinda). I don’t know how IB works, best to email a uni. I had a question I asked ANU through their website and they were helpful enough.

Big congrats on the offer! That’s great news!! Stop by Department of Quantum Science? ;-)
Glad I didn’t butcher your name! 😂
@@NutsineesVlogBook Thank you, Sure will stop by DQS 😀👍
Hi, I'm also looking for a Ph.D. in Australia, it'll be helpful if you can suggest me how to start the process..

Thanks for this video, I hope you can upload more about faculty, labs, and social enviroment. Thanks!!
Got plenty of lab videos! Not much I can do on the faculty side since I don't take classes. And I don't do socializing much 😬
Hi, Nutsinee. It is wonderful footage.
Thank you very much!

what was your GPA ? on the video it showed 3.1, 3.1 GPA is like 86%- that is actually quite high?
No that's mediocre. It's a B- equivalent.

I wouldn't defend ANU in this regard 😂
Is the PhD funded? Also can you give insights on the stipend.
I talked about that here th-cam.com/video/4yjtuF7rsCI/w-d-xo.html
Hi is a 3.87/5.0 GPA on an MSc degree low ?
For those who r applying to undergrad, they can’t have a strong letter of recommendation like you, what they should do instead? I don’t think school teachers’ letters work?
A process of applying to undergrad works differently. This video doesn't apply.
Dang! You dress like me and that's elevate my uh.... willingness to go outside and socialize. Themks
I have one research paper and 1 conference paper.. but my CGPA is not great. is there any chance in gravitational waves group at ANU?
Research experience is more important than GPA I would say. Give ANU GW group a go!
Is it hard to get ANU PhD scholarship? if you received it with average GPA, then that's good!
HI, Can you please help how can I get into PHD /Masters program in Renewable Energy ... I am from India and a working electrical engineer
How is 3.11 out of 4.00 GPA mediocre? Or am I missing something?
It is considered good in my country too. The higher ranks would be very good (over 3.2) and excellent (3.6)
you directly went to PhD after undergrad? I mean without a masters.
Yes I did.
@@NutsineesVlogBook I had plans to do masters first. do you think it's not totally necessary.

@@NutsineesVlogBook Is IELTS complusory to take admission in Aus Uni?
My 11th grade gpa was 3.64 is that good enough for a scholarship ?
EEek. Not familiar with high school -> Undergrad here in Australia 😬 I came from US undergrad -> ANU PhD.
@@NutsineesVlogBook oh cool cool, thank you doe
