@@ViperRambles viper.... sour patch kids watermelon and NORMAL mike and ikes and those peppermints that are like clouds and just evaporate in your mouth
As an american I've just got to express my disappointment with whoever sent that box, they sent some of the most mid candies other than nerds, sour strips, and sour patch kids. We have a ton that are IMO much better
We are a big country and different regions have different candies so that's probably why. For example boiled peanuts is a big snack at convenience stores in the south and I didn't know that was a thing until I was driving through and wondered who the hell wanted boiled peanuts. But apparently a lot of people
They're the cheapest candies, so the biggest profit for people selling assortments. They're the ones people buy in 50- or 100-piece sacks for Halloween, when they know they'll have a lot of kids stopping by, but don't care if those kids like what they get.
What I learned from this video is that A: artifical cherry is just medicine flavor B: Australia has really good chocolate C: Matt watches a lot of movies
Viper's spiel with the runts sums up half the candy, drinks, or snacks in general I loved as a kid. They changed the recipes to be "healthier" yet made the candy as a whole worse overall. I often buy Australian licorice to cope with this. If they ever change the recipe for the 3 brands I come across, it'll take at least 1-3 months for the new recipe to show up in stores.
This is basically the "give away during Halloween" candy list and his ratings arent that bad. The "better" ones are generally individual and more expensive but nothing to write home about. I find the best candies to be made by local/small candy makers all around
I cannot believe this man just put Banana Laffy Taffy above Watermelon Airheads, absolutely criminal. Also, I'm extremely sad he didn't get a Toblerone.

Artificial watermelon and banana are so bad Overall i would say watermelon is worse but banana isn't much better The worst part for me is I don't even like watermelon to begin with
It's a bit funny you mentioned Fun Dip since started eating some at the beginning of the vid. Figured I should eat some candy while watching this and I have a ton of it since I grabbed a few boxes of it during a clearance sale.
Hershey chocolate isn't top tier. It's the most basic, affordable chocolate the US has. It's better when mixed with things (like Kit-Kat or Reese's). But mainly, the ones you had looked really pale. Not sure if it was just the lighting, but they looked really dry and stale.
They are not fresh. That entire batch is a blast from the past. I'm not saying they would be good while fresh, it's just not current day candy. I don't think anyone is going to name a single one of these as a must-try other than like laffy taffy, both the chocolate tootsie and fruit, then maybe the air heads.

Fun fact, the banana flavoring and everything is actually a real banana from like the '60s and stuff. They wiped it out cuz it was so addicting to people that they accidentally made extinct so there's your phone fact and so the banana flavoring we get from candies and food and drinks is a real flavor. That's why when you buy a banana at a store it don't taste good. It tastes very bland
I like how Matto goes into detail with American Smarties vs Australian Smarties. As a Canadian we call American Smarties "rockets" and we call Australian Smarties "Smarties". And no they're not maple flavor.
Minimum 10% tootsie of a random assortment of American candy is very authentic experience. Like somehow you always have so many of those if you like go trick-or-treating
Those chocolate crispies are soooo easy to make! Probably 15 mins then and hour to cool. The ingredients are all pretty shelf stable and the recipe is easy to divide so you can make smaller batches

they used to literally sell 'candy sticks' as 'candy cigarettes' but they stopped after there was a big outcry about tobacco companies marketing to young people (which they were actually doing- I don't know if candy cigarettes were actually part of that though).
