As usual superb presentation by both the ladies. A small correction in pronouncing....it is " Bisi beley huli annaa." In Kannada "Bisi" means hot. Beley ( not pronounced as " belaa ") means dal ( paruppu). " Huli " means sambar. Annaa means rice ( saadham ). So it is Bisi beley huli Annaa or saadham.Not Bisi belaa.
Sorry ma'am we add all vegetables like beans, carrot, knol knol , peas , ground but. Without dry coconut no bisi bele bath. We add bit jaggery also. And of course ghee. Don't call this bisi bele bath please .Some add poppy seeds also.
Actually in karnataka they do not add onion at all especially they use sambar onion very rarely. The veg they use bisibela is yellow pumpkin, big cucumber, carrot and beans. Mostly it is also done without veg and onion. They sprinkle karaboondi on top and have it with milakgu bhaji. I live in Bangalore. 😃👍
That is Bisi bele bath . It is a Karnataka special recipie. Bele In title in tamil it is written as Bisi Bella bath. Bisi means -- hot in Kannada and Bele means Dhal in Kannada. Here in this recipie only Toor dhal is used as a main ingredient. Bella means jaggery in Karnataka. So better write as Bisi Bele Bath and NOT as Bisi Bella Bath.

Bisibele bath is one of the traditional food of Karnataka and battani is mandatory to do this recipe.Wat u did is not Bisibele bath.
One more thing we should not use brinjal for this and without kara boondi Bisibele bath will not complete.
