Indian Scout - Dean Speed Belt Guard Install

- Installing a custom belt guard from Dean Speed. Matches the custom sissy bar I also got from them. Looks great and saves some weight. Adds some flair to a pretty bland location on the bike.

That clip goes on the bottom front. It keeps the wires from dropping down against the kickstand. With the Dean Speed belt cover, I would put it between the block and the spacer, so it can do it’s job properly.

That plate with the slots in it, is for the center nut on the belt drive gear. The slots allow for the nut to be in different positions and gives you room to still put the locking plate on so the nut cant back off.
Just did mine. That little black tab. Looks like it keeps the crank position sensor wires tucked up above the kickstand.

@ 5:12 into video. That "adjustment" is for the nut lock plate, The slots allow you to get the locking plate on, no mater that position the large hex locking nut is at. Hope this makes sense. Excellent "cover" plate btw.

I weighed the stock exhaust.....22 lbs. My bike is going to weigh under 500lbs once I'm done with all these light weight add-ons.

Hey buddy , been watching some of your videos and think they're good. One question though, when your riding down the highway what's to keep your pant leg flapping in the wind from getting pulled through the belt drive? I think some of these after market companies have unpractical designs sometimes , but hey when your leg gets sucked in the belt and your back wheel stops at 70mph no problem, the bike looked good !🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I think that pulley cover looks awesome. I'm just not a fan of the front part of the cover being open. Probably doesn't make a difference. nit picking I guess.I would get black washers from a local hardware store.

What seat is that?
Cleaning chain is a small price to pay for more efficient drive and more wheel power/torque. Especially when so many Scout riders drop $1000 for a stage 1 to get them to the same numbers and feeling that the stock bike would have had with a chain drive and greater torque transfer efficiency.
The 2 different Indian heads look out of place next to each other - but as long as you like it :)

I feel that Belts and chains have there positives and minuses and it all depends on what kinda look you’re going for I’ve kinda wanted to do a chain conversion on my bike in the future
On a side note it’s really strange that your bolts so corroded i seen your clutch video witch prompted me to check out all my primary bolts just in case but they looked new as hell could it be your climate ?
The corrosion is actually a chemical reaction between the two different metals. Nothing to do with climate. That's why anti-seize. :)
Can this be installed without taking off the stock cover?
No.
The black washer thing held the wires above your shifter arm. Kind of pointless but its a factory thing.
This product really look awesome, but i think that loses protection...
is there any product that can make this bike abs, i crushed my scout on rainy day because of no abs
It was the factory tires being utter junk in the rain that caused the accident. But unless you have a donor parts bike to swap EVERYTHING electrical/electronic off of, I don’t know of a way to add ABS. I wish it were standard rather than optional. It certainly would be nice.
If you could use the original bolts it would match up with the other factory by a showing 👍👍😎
