    Super simple my heiny... finally I get the tension and adjustment right, tighten the axel nut and it goes out of adjustment. Been at 4 hours, back at square one...

    I have the Victory Octane, not many videos out there for it, pretty much the same bike, subbing for the great tutorials

      I like the octane. She looks good. I’ve been trying to find a set of octane wheels on eBay. They are a more common rim size and have much better tire selection. Plus like you said. Pretty much same bike so I know they fit.
      Thanks for the sub! It’s greatly appreciated

    Thanks for the video Jay. Was cool to watch, the only thing i was not fully understanding is what you were adjusting to get the belt to the right as the camera didn't show you doing that.

    • @jay_fast
      @jay_fast  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ya. i used the marks on the alignment washers to get the wheel centered. Then equally turn the adjusters till i get the tension correct. then only adjust the right side to set belt alignment. Indian wants equal spacing on either side of the belt when looking at it on the drive hub. it can be as little as a quarter turn on the adjuster nut

      @@jay_fast I know this was a year ago. The video flashes loosened to move belt to the right. Did that mean counterclockwise on the right side adjuster but?

      @@jay_fast hi mate thanks alllll of your videos,been a great help.
      I wanted to ask, when the belt has been aligned , must the spaces marks On the left and right side be the equal on both sides?
      Or can for example can the right side be like 1 or 2mm further out than the left side?

    • @jay_fast
      @jay_fast  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@xmark020 that’s awesome to hear!
      Honestly. Alignment is a tough one on these bikes for whatever reason. as long as it’s close you should be fine. It when it really rubs one side or the other you gotta watch out for.

    Or if you're like me I just hand it to the workshop guys and let them sort it 😂 I clean my bike, put fuel in it and ride it. Anything more complicated I give it to the pros! Haha.

    Hi, belt should be centered only during adjustment or should stay centered during normal drive too?

    • @stogie0608
      @stogie0608 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve tried everything and the damn belt won’t stay centered when I ride. I guess so long as it’s centered when on the jack you’ll be fine

    Sir , one question , How to make sure the wheel axis is in "center" position before you adjust the tension ? It seems have some torrence .....

  • @fastscout4079
    @fastscout4079 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Jay very informative except Indian is very clear in the manual - the belt should ride in the middle of the rear sprocket not to the right/ wheel side.

    • @jay_fast
      @jay_fast  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      thanks. they look good but lack a way to keep them locked in. its just a threaded adjuster unlike the nylock nut. i used a bit of threadlocker

    I know I'm super late to the video, but I don't get what/how/where you're measuring those 12mm. You push up with the tool till it touches the ring on the thinner part, but what and where should you see if is the right tension?
    Thank you if you'll decide to take some time and reply

    • @jay_fast
      @jay_fast  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Andrea Valerio so you are measuring belt deflection. When the bike is in the air and the suspension is dropped. The belt should deflect 12mm at 10lbs of pressure. The little tool I was using has a spring inside it. Once I reach 10lbs of pressure the marks line up and I hold that pressure and measure deflection. It makes for a repeatable consistent measurement.

    How important is this? Honestly probably the most frustrating things I’ve done in a while lol I’ve had this damn thing jacked up probably 5 times now trying to get the belt aligned and it’s aligned and then I ride and it goes back to the right typically

  • @gustavorojas8196

    Before making adjustments did you have to loosen up the 27mm nut first?

    • @jay_fast
      @jay_fast  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes. You need to loosen the axle nut. Keep a bit of tightness in it. Make your adjustments then retighten. Check alignment again after tightening. It can put it off

    With all the different size tires now on this bike, does it throw off the speedometer?

    • @jay_fast
      @jay_fast  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. The two tires sizes can be considered identical. The aspect ratio makes the overall rolling circumstance less than 1% difference.
      So at 65mph there is less than 1/2 a Mph between them.

    How do u like the joker machine adjusters after some mileage?

    • @jay_fast
      @jay_fast  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      usmcsrt1 good. I’ve inspected them a few times now and they are holding strong.
      I actually am a big fan of all the joker products. I currently have
      Joker turn signals front and rear
      Joker pulley cover
      Joker shift rail
      Joker shift rod
      Not installed yet are the joker brake/clutch lever and joker pegs. But they are on order

      @usmcsrt1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good to hear. What is actually holding the tension on their device? And btw, great informative videos. And thanks for the reply.

    • @jay_fast
      @jay_fast  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      usmcsrt1 I assume you mean what’s stopping it from backing off? Obviously the nylock nut has the Teflon acting as a lock. I just used a bit of lite duty thread lock to secure it.

    • @usmcsrt1
      @usmcsrt1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeh, I was talking about it backing out. But I thought you said the stock had nylon, but not the joker. Cool. I appreciate it.

    • @jay_fast
      @jay_fast  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      usmcsrt1 yes. Teflon. Nylon. Whatever is it. Stock was a standard nylock. The joker has no such provisons. Just a threaded billet piece. So I used a lite amount of thread locker.

    Question what do they mean by keeping the adjusters Seated forward against the axle?

    • @deployingnoob1443
      @deployingnoob1443 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The nut that you adjust the tension(belt side) and the alignment(exhaust side) must be seated flush against the axle. Lets say you forget to loosen the axle nuts before adjusting the tension and alignment nuts. If you loosen the adjustment nuts while the axle nuts are still torqued to 65ftlbs, there would be a gap between the adjustment nuts and the axle.
