An 1100cc Gordini, as it has 2 pce 7" headlights which are bigger than the 5.3/4" headlights on the standard R8 . The Gordini 1300 had quad headlights as had the later introduced R8S, which was a tame version between the R8 Major and the Gordini 1300. Gordini's were extremely popular in the Nordic countries where rallying is a way of life😂😂😂😂 In France Renault started the Coupe Gordini, a race cup with identical cars to source new racing talent, first with the 1100 Gord and lster with the 1300 model , this was the world's first cup where everybody drove the same car. It was succeeded by the R12 Gordini cup and then Renault went international with the R5 Alpine cup, the 5 Turbo cup the 5 GT Turbo cup and the Clio cup, to name a few....
Yeah, the first 2 years of Gordini production had 2 headlights only. 1964 and 1965 to be exact. Only a few late 1965 examples come with 4 headlights. Which I have to say, I own one myself 😅 a 65 rhd gordini with 4 headlights.
Rally is a fun motorsport for sure! This video was actually made about a year ago and has been unlisted since.. I decided, either I delete or I publish, so publish it was. ;P
Rally in old cars will always be more fun than the new fancy pants rally cars
I second this!!!! Prost 🍻

Didn't know they made a Gordini with only 2 headlights (incorporated to the body)... Fog lights within the body is a hallmark of the Gordini isn't it?

It was so under powered! It needed at least 100 or more hp. It had the look but not a rally car in performance! I had one !
Fairly normal performing car for the time. I’ve driven Saab sonetts and mgbs, none of those small old European cars were very powerful.
They weighed next to nothing, power is a relative thing
@@Rammstein56 It needed more power! It was like a VW Hey it was fun! Thank you SIR!
