Thank you for the video. You’re a terrific craftsman and I appreciate you passing on your skills to others. I look forward to all your future projects. Merry Christmas to you and your wife. Bob
I’ve been looking forward to this video for a while now. I admire the work you do, it reminds me of watching my dad when I was a kid. And even though I’m older than you, I’m grateful for the memories that you have brought back to me. Merry Christmas to you and your family and all best wishes for the new year.
It always makes me happy when a new episode is released! Next year what about, and hear me out now, what about you made an episode each month? Ha, ha, one can dream :^) I got a rabbet block plane a few months ago (finally!), and I think it was inspired by you. You have used yours in so many episodes and it makes so much sense to me. Thank you for another great episode! Much love to both of you :^)
Some youtubers put out a show a week! Not this youtuber! Lol. The rabbet block comes in handy, and the low angle bedding makes it useful on end grain. Thanks and have a merry Christmas.
Almost there....this has been quite the challenging project. Thanks for taking the time to send me a note, and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well.
I really like that milk paint! I remember seeing Mr Underhill use it before, maybe for a tool chest? I'm not certain. Looking forward to getting the carving underway! Great video as always Ken
Thanks Clint. Yes, the milk paint has a nice look. I often apply a topcoat of thinned varnish to give it a sheen like I did on the box. It looks nice dead flat also. Great stuff. Keep me posted on the carving….can’t wait to see it! Thanks.
it's always nice and interesting to watch your videos! i take this opportunity to wish you a merry christmas and a happy new year for you and all your loved ones.
I always appreciate your videos and your explanation of different techniques. Derek Cohen is a wealth of knowledge, but I have a question in regards to extending the cutter. Are you using your fingers to stabilize the end of the scratch stock? I couldn’t quite see on the video if the body was touching the wood or not. Merry Christmas to you both!
The adjustable fence is in contact with the wood. You simply guide the stock with both hands and stop when the bead is formed. Thanks for the question. Merry Christmas.
You know your stuff, as I do too. I'm getting a bit scared of the lack of interest from the younger generation over woodworking. Sadly, it has become a push button World. Their money is being spent on tattoos, video gaming, and expensive cars.

Lots of choices there. Maybe a box for my router plane, with the fence and blades stored in the till. Merry Christmas to you as well.

I'm encouraged when I see people learning to create things with there own hands. We should promote this in our schools and at home. Check out Sloyd.
