I didn’t care for Dr. Phil back when he was on Oprah but I’ve watched a number of his interviews now and I appreciate his balance and fairness. It's neither a Democracy or a Republic. The best term for it that we have today is a Democratic Representative Republic. There was both democracies and republics before the US became independent fro Great Britain. Our founding fathers knew that neither democracies or republics lasted so they too from both a democracy and a republic. The voting for our representatives, senators and executive(president) is democracy in action those representatives work with in a republic by voting on the laws that govern the nation. The measures that our representatives vote on are constrained by law and the Constitution. We do not have pure democracy or “rule by the majority” because we have constitutionally protected rights that cannot be voted away, operate under rule of law, and have limited government with limited powers. A fun fact is that the original text of the United States Constitution never mentions the word democracy, and only mentions republic as a form of government once in Article IV, Section 4 (“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government…”). Interestingly, that clause refers to the states and not the federal government itself. The Democratic Party is definitely not what it used to be when JFK was in office. My Mom and family came from Massachusetts. My grandma wrote JFK when he was a Senator and when he was in the hospital having back surgery, she had back surgery too around the same time. I’ve never really been for one party, I always just voted who I thought would be best. I definitely now have no values that go along with the Democratic Party, they are way out there! I will never again vote for them.

We are a constitutional Republic
It's neither a Democracy or a Republic. The best term for it that we have today is a Democratic Representative Republic. There was both democracies and republics before the US became independent fro Great Britain. Our founding fathers knew that neither democracies or republics lasted so they too from both a democracy and a republic. The voting for our representatives, senators and executive(president) is democracy in action those representatives work with in a republic by voting on the laws that govern the nation. The measures that our representatives vote on are constrained by law and the Constitution. We do not have pure democracy or “rule by the majority” because we have constitutionally protected rights that cannot be voted away, operate under rule of law, and have limited government with limited powers.
A fun fact is that the original text of the United States Constitution never mentions the word democracy, and only mentions republic as a form of government once in Article IV, Section 4 (“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government…”). Interestingly, that clause refers to the states and not the federal government itself. Throughout the text, the founders refer to the United States as the “union” or as the “United States” but never a republic or a democracy. The Declaration of Independence does not use either term at all.

Probably one of the most important interview and commentary I have watched in my lifetime. Just think, RFK.Jr and President Trump, two men that are huge in our Country's history fabric and can and have made a positive result in their deeds for our country. I always loved and respected the Kennedy's and the Trump's, because those in the government Arena have done good for the american people and i believe it was because of their vision, intelligence, and real care. This team of RFK, Jr. and President Trump will have such a life long benefit for all Americans, not just in good health but in the peoples education that will last for future generations..
