Passed my test last week and bought myself a VFR 800 VTEC and like you say take your time for about 6 months I feel so confident on it and the weight does not bother me you just got to Respect what its capable of doing LOVE IT
Hey man ik it's been a year but how was your rider journey on the VFR? I'm in your same position but unsure if it's too much for first bike even as a respectful rider. Weight isn't too concerning cuz I was originally looking at crusier bikes.
I have a 2017. And you're right. It's a keeper. There's not much it doesn't do. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but it does what it does. And does it well.
Yeah spot on mate, I got one as my first bike ever last year (did DAS and went straight on the VFR) and it's been a brilliant bike. Only time I dropped it was when I was putting the center stand on in the rain and my foot slipped. It's quite a tame bike if you ride it responsibly, keeping it below 7000rpm and for the first few months I did. Eventually you get addicted to the VTEC and inevitably speed a lot more often 😂
Welsh border roads? Looks familiar, I ride Brecon, Abergavenny etc. I did a long ride down west coast of Ireland last year on my 03, wonderful bike, my second proper bike and maybe my last, although the Hayabusa beckons, exactly my thoughts too! I have only been riding a couple of years, I am 62 and playing catch up!
I can't remember what this one was mate sorry, but I think this one was just a generic one you can find on ebay, check this video though: th-cam.com/video/ZnYcdkzvQjQ/w-d-xo.html
Went from a 1983 Yamaha xj750 as my first bike to an 2003 vfr800 as my second, much more respect is required for the vfr.
Started on a VFR800 as well. First bike Ive ever owned. I love it more every time I ride it.
Yeah when I compare it to other bikes it really does renew how awesome it is

Passed my test 2019 and bought a vfr800 as my first big bike. Still own it and dont think i could ever let it go. Beautiful bike to ride and tour on
How did you find it as a first bike after passing your test ?
@jamdebs9412 heavy at first but you soon get used to it. There beautiful bikes 👍

Yep I got mine last year as my first big bike. No issues at all
My 2003, dropped once, crashed twice, rebuilt twice, love my VFR, didn’t control the speed, the bike is so beguiling 👍❤️
Yeah it does have the ability to GO. The weight doesn't help when coming into a corner either, have to push really hard to turn at higher speeds 😂
Just got a 8th gen as my first bike! Been riding for a week now - so addicting!
Good video this. Great advice.
Got this bike as my first bike! Im taking it easy and getting real comfortable with it before doing anything crazy. But yeah its powerful lol
You answered all my questions. Thank you. Sub’d!
Great ride bro!! And looks interesting to ride with that narrow roads like that..
Ah, the roads are like this all over the UK unfortunately, so it's a rare treat to get a few corners you can see around before you're leaned over!
Camera and headset? Video sounds and looks really good.
GoPro Hero 9 Black and for audio I use the Tascam DR 05x, with a blue panda microphone going up into my helmet (in this vid)
Bike sounds lovely mate, what exhaust do you have?
Great video, ace roads you have there.
Cheers mate, running the black widows. Nice and deep note, ridiculously loud if you remove the baffles
Yes
solid video
What screen do you have on your Vtec Yo?

@@StormTEC It has a little long oval badge on it, top left, think it's powerbronze?
@@JayVtec-GAMING Yep that's the one, Powerbronze
I'm 6ft tall and it did a decent job of getting rid of wind buffeting
Too heavy for a first bike
I buy one last year like my first bike. For now 10k km. Love this bike, I keep my VFR for long time :)
😢🤔😋
