    Hey!
In the video, we tried to keep the explanation for SGB's as simple as possible for better understanding, but if you are looking forward to investing in SGB's keep a few things in mind:
    - SGBs are continuously available for trading in the secondary market. Investors can buy and sell them anytime on the stock exchanges, just like ETFs or stocks, by simply typing "SGB" in the search bar. Although liquidity can sometimes be low, SGBs can still be bought or sold even when fresh issues are not happening.
    - As investors can sell their SGBs anytime before the 8-year maturity date. They don't necessarily have to hold them for the full term. Can sell at any time by simply placing a sell order, and they can pocket the gains if it's in green and even the interest if it's already credited.
    Hope this helps

Physical gold is basically like you have something in your locker qnd you can use when it needed. But Digital gold or Gold ETF or mutual funds are just like long term investments for stable returns. Great video 👌🏽. Informative and easy to understand.

Considering the current market uncertainty, it appears prudent to consider investing in gold or a gold ETF. I'm contemplating allocating over $300k for retirement purposes. While the potential for short-term gains in a bullish market is enticing, I recognize the importance of maintaining a long-term investment strategy.

Gold is seen as a safe bet during economic ups and downs. But investing in it can be tricky. Some people lose money because they don't understand how it works. So, it's wise to be careful. I suggest talking to a financial advisor who can help you figure out when to buy and sell.

Gold and Silver are often seen as a safe-haven asset that can protect against inflation and economic uncertainty. But like any investment, it carries risks. To determine if gold is the right investment option for you, an investment advisor can help you weigh the potential benefits and risks of investing in gold. They can also help you create a well-diversified portfolio that includes gold as part of a broader investment strategy. An investment advisor can help you decide how much of your portfolio should be allocated to gold and select other investments that can complement your gold holdings.

Investing in gold is a reliable choice, and I plan to keep buying more to make up for my losses. While silver is also a good investment, my collectibles are not as similar. It's important to have clear investment goals and educate yourself on the type of investment that interests you. I work with a financial consultant regulated by the SEC, and started small, but eventually accumulated over $800,000.

When you want to buy an ornament this 24 carets in the form of grams will help you to buy for a reasonable price since the rate may vary and going downtrend physical gold rate is very rare.

I think if we are using gold as safety net, then we should purchase physical gold considering its liquidity, everything stored digitally can sometime create a nightmare in emergencies, suppose we require money during market holidays, so we can't sell the ETF or Mutual Fund, and we don't get the whole amount in a single day from ETFs, the physical gold can be sold even at the night time. Stocks, ETFs, Mutual Funds, Bonds are great investment tools for long terms but for emergencies gold, silver are best due their liquidity.

Complex facts distilled nicely and makes it easy. Q for you. Do you forsee liquidity being a challenge if at all there is a run on gold? I.e. inability to sell the ETFs or MF units i hold. Ability to sell is one of the main reasons one purchases this, but if there is a possibility that these could be illiquid, then i might need to reconsider etf or MF and consider digit6gold instead?

I disagree that the cost of acquiring gold (purely as an investment) is 7-12% + 3% GST. Most of the jewellers (I only know about South) sells gold coins and biscuits (starting from 1 gram) only with 3% Making charge plus GST. Recently I purchased physical gold at 0% making charge also. Hence acquisition cost of Physical gold is actually lower than digital gold(compared to 6%).

Wealth is a feeling of security. When an Indian wear the physical gold it gives the happiness to our home owners (Mothers), in comparison with their happiness isn't worth of spending of GST, Locker charges & Making Charges? Also, now there are many schemes by jeweler shops (including listed entities) where they reduce the making charges upto 18% which is really missed out in your video. As per me Ornamental Gold is a true asset where you can wear it and get the returns on the same.

I've started purchasing gold coins, mostly 1 to 5 grams, through online platforms like Flipkart and Amazon from reputed seller like Malabar, brpl for a marriage goal in 2 years. With applicable card discounts, I'm getting them for less than the market price. For example, if the market rate is ₹7500 per gram of 24k, I’m getting it at ₹7250, including 3% GST. At the time of marriage, I will only need to pay making charges, with no GST or capital gains tax, unlike ETFs

Every major Gold brand in India has a scheme of sorts were you can subscribe to a SIP of minimum 5000 i guess for 10-12 months and then you can buy gold from that amount without paying any Making charge.
This way you can buy gold for 12% less and just have to pay GST of 3%.
So this way physical gold also becomes affordable i guess...

Physical gold is something tangible, and actually available in your hands. Where as all other kinds of gold are in thin air, and only notional.
In case of Total Systematic Collapse, like inundivided India in 1947, or 1990 in kashmir, or recently in Bangladesh, all other kind of gold will vanish, and will not worth the value of waste paper.
Only Physical gold will come to rescue, provided you are shrewd enough to hold on to it.

Excellent video. I was infact researching about this topic over the past week so thank you very much. It would have been better if you had covered the taxation part on selling the gold as well.
Btw I would prefer a gold MF over a gold ETF just for the sake of convenience (I am ok paying 0.1% expense ratio to the AMC for this).
I would ideally prefer an SGB and don't mind the 8 years lock in period, although the govt hasn't announced new series. Some reports say that the govt might do away with SGB's as they need to pay us the 2.5% interest which is an additional burden for them. Is this true?
