One of my first mandolin songs was "Let it Be". Not too hard to play (for a Beatles song), and the arrangement was all chords. Sounded great. But a lot of Beatles songs are really difficult, on any instrument.
As a musician who plays guitar and mandolin primarily, it's not as easy as you would think playing at the right tempo and with the time signature changes.
We have music because words don't often exist to adequately describe human feelings, emotions and sentiment. Tim you and your most excellent mandolin playing are a language all alone for me. I am so grateful to be able to see and hear you play!
Hi Tim, Long time fan. I have had an on and off relationship with mandolin roughly 1961 to 1991. Each time I see/hear you play I am inspired to get back to playing. My main interest is guitar, but the allure of the mandolin keeps calling. I enjoy your solo work and your duet with Eric Skye. I think I'll put my toe in the water and order your book MandAlone. Thanks for the great music. From Jacksonville , Or. 4 hours West of the magical Alvord.

Thanks so much, John, I really appreciate it. I'm running an online mandolin school now, www.timsmandolessons.com - check it out, I could teach you how to do this!
Utterly fantastic! That is one hell of a mandolin and one hell of a mandolin artist? Love my guitar, but just can't seem to master the mandolin, e.g., violin tuning.
Enjoyed all... arrangement, interpretation, sound.... on my channel i played one mix also with hand made mandolin. You inspired me, to start working on it again... thanks
Hi Tim - such an awesome arrangement and well executed! Very cool video as well. Can you point me to the arrangement on your website? I found the video on the chords, but looking for more. Need to play this solo at a wedding. Thanks much!

Wow, very nice Tim... when's the album out? Just looking at your previous albums on Spotify. Is it just my eyes or is the scale length on the Giacomel's longer than a conventionally built F5?

Best Beatles cover ever. On a mandolin

Very nice is an understatement.
There's just something about the simplicity of this cover... So beautiful...

This song, with its jangly capo'd guitar sound, perfectly fits the mandolin! Gorgeous arrangement.
I miss hearing my Pops play the mandolin so much!!! You're amazing
I keep coming back to this video for inspiration, what an amazing cover
Is that highway 205 in Oregon in the intro???? Edited to say, yes that is 205! I recognized it instantly. Frenchglen highway! Wrights point!

You can pick out a lively tune on a Mandolin way easier than on a Guitar...
As you can do with a tambourine...fingering is much different champ
@@harrykuheim6107 I agree. I'm learning both, but I think my hands are too small for a guitar. Frets are too far apart!

Oh, not a Giacomel... somehow a youtube search for Giacomel lead me here. Arrow, looking him up now. :)
The builders name is Paul Lestock, and yes the mandolin does have a longer scale length, 14.875 inches I believe.
my scale length is normal, but you're right, the standard G model is slightly longer scale.
