I started Mandoline 3 days ago. This is so much more satisfying than any other instrument I learned and now this… I can improvise medieval stuff? Love it.
I suppose you'll have to try for yourself. The major keys always felt like that which shirefolk would play, whereas the elves favor more haunting tunes
Instructions unclear: mandolin stuck in toaster. It keeps droning on about adventures and how home is where the heart is but that is has no heart. Now I am stuck looking for a wizard to give it a heart, any suggestions?
I recommend seeking out the wizard known by the name "Oz". I've heard he is one to pass out hearts to those in need. As for the toaster, I recommend setting it to "4" and getting some jam ready. Nothing is better than a good musical jam session.
You are on the right track. It's all about finger placement with respect to the fret. Your finger should apply pressure just before the fret for the clearest sound. If your finger is a bit too high and starts to creep over the fret your finger will interrupt the string's vibration and sound dull. If your finger is to low and far away from the fret it will start to buzz because the string is kinda bouncing and hitting the fret. To get a feel for this, try placing your finger on any note and slowly sliding it up towards the bridge of the instrument, keep sliding from fret to fret, applying constant pressure. While you're doing this, pluck the string over and over. You should hear the notes go from clear to dull to buzzy to clear again and so on.
Hey brother pretty wild stuff but if you get a chance look into the Red Heifer Prophecy. Jewish prophecy is being fulfilled this year brother. Sorry for posting something like this on your channel but I felt the need to mention it to you.

awesome! What does it sound like in a major key? Are major keys for improvising in the shire? Or when you are with elves?

Any tips on how to stop my notes from being too dull or buzzing out ?? Maybe my finger placement sucks 😅
