Prefabs are really nice, allways felt Minecraft needed that, sometimes i don't want to build block by block, i like to explore more. Hope the development is going well.
By the way you wrote that, it seems like you'd want prefabs in survival..? I hope that isn't the case, because that would suck and take away the whole point of the game, haha Also, structure blocks exist, which allows you to create prefabs for mapmaking in creative mode.
@@kuronya3582 Structure blocks in conjunction with jigsaw blocks are for generating. But I've used them a lot for prefabs, too. Really nice for pasting a decently big building around :)

I'm so excited for this game like been following it since the trailer dropped and I'm 25 now, basically spent my adulthood waiting for this silly little voxel game. I have a lot of faith in it to be honest, the devs seem so passionate about the game. As an artist and a writer, I know how long designing stories can take. Now combining art, coding and story writing into a game? It makes the long wait more explained when you really think about it.
The story sounds like its going to be awesome but honestly I kind of wish they went the sandbox route and just released the game without a story and only like a few mobs with 1 or 2 biomes where players can play the game make their own fun while they develop the rest of the core features. I mean that's what MC did.
@@Rated_xv And that's probably what made it so successful. I myself have been waiting for Hytale since the very first announcement. But now I don't play games anymore and I'm probably not a target. Maybe someone will enjoy the story and discovery, but to me this game seems unnecessarily complicated. I played Minecraft from the beginning when there were only a few things. I discovered new things and learned to use them gradually as they came out. With Hytale, when I see how much there is, I'm not even tempted to start because I know that it will take a lot of time just to learn it. But I hope that it will catch on with the new generation, because I wish that for this project.
@@Rated_xv Well, I'd argue that they are trying not to just be Minecraft 2. Also, because of how much work they are putting into creator tools, I'd bet you that it would be pretty easy for someone to develop a sandbox style mode of play :) (which I do agree is superior. Minecraft's current drift away from its sandbox roots is frustrating)
So wondeful to see those reactions during the video reveal. We're going to keep working hard to deliver an amazing game for you all. Thank you for sticking with us. Much love, Hytale community ❤️ ♥️
It’s nice to see some creative mode gameplay. The prefabs will make building stuff much quicker than just block by block. It was also funny to see chat freaking out about the new gameplay.
I'm sorry, you managed to put together a script, record the audio, take clips from the stream, and edit everything together into a finished product in one day? Kweebec, you're an absolute madlad. 😂
Seeing the menus decompartmentalized from the game in that way (first look) is a massive vibe shift from Minecraft. Minecraft keeps you as a player feeling wholely carded in one place, fully visible and identifiable whenever you stop to manage that. So seeing the expanse of systems menu'd around for you to walk through instead of it being a piece of the gameflow is something I hope is a creative only thing, because needing to open a menu, switch to the correct menu to check my mats, switch to a menu to craft, switch to a menu to equip, then switch to a menu to see it equiped, sounds awful. Minecraft you have to interact with the world to do that, or visit the one menu you do have. For those who read this negatively, the integration of the player into their game world is going to be pivotal for a lot of people, and once they see the menu-ization of things take breath away from the generative worlds being explored (which it looks much like cubeworld alpha which is a cool nostalgia for me), people will slowly stop feeling absorbed by the game and feel sunken into a projected view of menus that are gatekeeping the gameplay experiences. That's how I felt about Lego Worlds and the Fortnite version, that it fully had zero concept of what it was doing and just wanted to bombard you with bookmarks to look at rather than a fun world to explore. So I am hoping this weightless conjecture of mine that I am making has zero ground to stand on.
if anyone wants to volley their thoughts &or ideas at me, or reflect on or dismantle what I said, etc, please do. I expect a very railroaded and reception desk vibe from the game so anything a player does stands out and away from the brand's vibe, but also I don't think anything I said is particularly wrong, and if it is I would want to know.
I think this is only a creative menu as craftingbenches exists in the trailer and I think they even confirmed that there will be different types of benches for different crafts, like weapons, blocks wtc
Do I understand it correctly that your problem is having multiple submenues? I don't quite understand why that detracts from your enjoyment. I am someone that plays for example RPGs alot. Which has alot of those Menues because obviously you cannot put all functionality in one menu. For example Witcher 3 has like 5 different submenues for Skill Trees for Inventory for Mutagens. And that does not detract from people feeling absorbed in the game.
@@the_mastermage true, as the gameplay is focused on those aspects. What I mean though, is that I've seen a fair few Minecraft inspired games totally lose focus on what it is they are doing. I guess my best example is the first dragon quest builders (I never played the 2nd); It has two games in one, a tower defensish city builder and a story with a linear progress path (some details in between). Realistically it's nothing like Minecraft at all, but in terms of the space it is clearly inspired from it does nothing to lend itself to that. The biggest reason is that it's a static handcrafted world with sandbox elements, and even with those systems manages not to be a sandbox at it's core, until you start building in places you're not necessarily meant to (except thematically). The tug and pull of having a world to experience, and a narrative to unfold is what drives it away from letting the player host their own adventure as one does in any generated landscape. So I can see Hytale making that same mistake by leaps and bounds with the way it appears to be compartmentalizing every little idea, 'theme park' is what people usually use to describe that, but in my own experience there are games that represent their world as a whole (making talk of the campaign and not the online Hytale ecosystem), and then there are games that can't represent any cohesion except in whatever non-gameplay-consequential art is loitering about. The main two details I see fighting for attention is the looting and gathering. Kind of a basic Fight or Flight catchall, but anyone actually playing the game and not just touring a piece of it will end up abandoning some system the game has, and that can alienate players from each other or the game itself if there is nothing for it to work well with everything else. I just hope it's not as lifeless as Trove, and their creation tools allow for us to fill in the gaps.

I never understood the point of healthbars that shrink from both ends honestly? Kind of just makes the healthbar less accurate. But I'm sure there will be ways to change that too.
@Bananenbauer123 I think it's meant to keep the player's eyes facing the center screen to focus. Adding a marker in the center of the bar would better communicate how much health is left, unlike Skyrim's.
