This is good advice. I had the classes in school but no arranging classes. I ended up inventing the wheel and coming up with something that eventually came out to be a three line sketch. Then went on to study Mike Tomaro’s book And Sammy Nestico‘s book on arranging great thing about those books was that they had a CD with them to show how different voicings in different instruments how they sounded so you could create different Tamber. Anyway, I like your stuff it’s really good information and you’re able to, come at it from a point that anybody could understand it. Most of the theory classes I took were people that went way beyond my head and I was barely treading water to be under able to understand it. Great information though.
Yeap, the good ole 3 line sketch. Super old school and I remember doing this myself... another way I like to do this same concept is by having the bass and tenors on the same line, so that way and I put the alto and woodwind lines on a separate staff, essentially because I like to write a lot of woodwind parts. Some of my arrangement sketches would probably look insane lol.
Jerome Queen lol yea bro like most of this stuff, there’s a thousand ways to do it. I always tell people, whatever works best for you is whatever works for you. Good stuff man ✊🏾
Marie Rogers lol had to put a twist in it. I was really just thinking about getting an A out the class since that was our only “assignment” lol so I had to go all out.
