A good example of voice setting VI would be Backstabbers right before the tuba break. That section is literally that voice setting.
I did a voice setting "practice" where I took 8 bars of a song, and rewrote it using all 10 of those voice settings. Some were better than others, but some of these are suppose to be very sparingly or in certain transitional sections.
Jerome Queen yep, that’s another one! That’s a dope way to practice voicing! Cool exercise I can do with some students, too.
Definitely appreciate you for sharing this info. I currently practice arranging for winds and it helps a percussionist like me learn certain techniques when it comes to assigning melodies to certain voices. Keep up the good work fam.
Nice.
What are the voice settings you use the most and which settings are used the most in the HBCU style Arranging I’m a music major and I’m still learning I appreciate it!
What's the name of the text book that you based your " The Sound of Arranging: Voice settings" video off of??
Hi Antoine, nice video, can you tell me the name of the book you are using (at minute 0.43) for Voice Settings please? Thanks, Fede.
What book did this come from??
